If I can offer a piece of advice. If you rehearse and hold auditions at a biker clubhouse that might be some info you should divulge before people drive 45 minutes to meet up. Not everyone is comfortable with the concept.

Hey I'm Bobby and I have been playing bass for a little over 3 years and I've decided, I'm just too f*cking good for most of you posting on this site. Music is, in every way, my passion, and I want, with all my heart, to make a career out of it. My biggest influences are Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Guns N' Roses, Pantera, which makes me completely different and totally original unlike almost anyone else posting on this site! I know, hard to believe I have picked out such wildly different bands, but that just shows my depth and range. I'm serious about what I do and want to make good, new music that is breath of fresh air and that is why I continually listen to bands whose heyday was more than a decade ago.
So I will obviously not do pop, rap, hipster, country, electronica, reggae, Celtic, afro-beat, Klezmer, Bollywood, 16th century harpsichord odes, or be in a tribute band covering the Captain and Tennille. So quit asking, no f-ing way I'm doing that. I'm an artist and I have my integrity, just like the guys in Guns N' Roses!
I can play just about anything, I can't read music but I sort of know about keys and things and if you point to those dots on my bass, and say "now" that is what my last band did, and it was all good.
I'm given this one life, and I want to spend it doing what I love. I can't see myself doing anything else in life but music. it's my dream, my goal, and my top priority. I mean, f*ck my old man, and his "you better get your GED", poopie, who needs that, I'll be laughing at him when I'm winning the MTV award for best bass player!

Heavy Metal Guitarist in Need to Join/Start a Band to Make Music (south san francisco)
Hello I'm Eric Marroquin, and I'm a self-taught guitar player. I have been playing guitar for a little over 5 years now, almost 6. I'm definitely a hard rocker &/or metal head since I love classical hard rock/classical heavy metal. I've mostly been learning & playing cover songs of a lot of my favorite bands & musicians, such as Ozzy Osbourne (Randy Rhoads is my all-time favorite guitarist since I believe he's the greatest guitarist to have ever lived & that he has written the greatest music that I have ever heard, and because of that, I can play the Blizzard of Ozz & Diary of a Madman albums note-for-note, but even then Jake E. I would definitely love to go into the direction of a modernized classic hard rock/classical heavy metal direction as far as having our own unique sound goes as well as the types of unique & magical songs that we write. I'm definitely committed to being a part of the band, and that I hope that it's serious since I really want to go somewhere with it since I love classic hard rock/classical heavy metal so much that I really want to be part of it and succeed since its classic hard rock/classical heavy metal guitar is something that I love to do & that it's something that I'm really good at. I noticed some of you on here have been having a douche dialogue about my nefarious plans for this country (in a forum that's supposed to be for musician classifieds no less - gotta love that!). Well, speak of the devil and he shall appear, lol!
Any-hoo...I just wanted to let you all know that there's no reason to be concerned...nothing to see here folks. Put your minds at ease and go on back to rotting your brains and bodies with television and fast food. Don't be alarmed at the prospect of some a-hole forming the next mega-hit revolutionary band to espouse political/social justice and cast light on all the dark plans my shadow government has in store for you and your loved ones. I've been working very hard since the late 1960s to make sure that the futile dreams of rock stardom enter the head of every young person who ever attended a concert; the effect of which has lead to the music industry being so flooded with derivative, pointless bands that 99% of the ones who actually have talent will never actually be successful...let alone this numb-nuts who's trying to take jabs at me.
And AM radio? Lmfao! Who in the hell listens to that? Er..well except of course for everyone who is actually in hell. Yep...we've got evangelical Christian preachers cranked down in the pit 24/7. That and Rush Limbaugh of course. Ah Rush.....who knew that when I didn't flush my turds for a solid month they would start to walk and talk and pop pain killers while bitching about liberals all day.
But I digress...my point, kiddies, is that you don't need to worry about stuff like black pool trading, super PACs, the corporate buy-out of congress or the fact that China now owns your mortgage. Me and my buddies in Washington totally have your back. Just go on back to your dream of putting together a successful band in North Carolina. I just know it'll totally work out for you.
