Dumb CL Ad's pt 5, Dumbester and Dumberest

From the Youngstown area musicians gear exchange Facebook page:
1984-1987 Fender Jazz Bass Special - Drive by shooting victim.
Exact year not known. Jazz Special Bass - with original black hardware, P/J pickup configuration, with three-way switching, two volume and one TBX tone control. Comes with the original case (with bullet hole).
This guitar was resting peacefully in its case when a .357 tore through the case and hit the neck at the 19th thru 21st frets. The truss rod is ever-so-slightly bent but the truss rod still turns and the nec...k remains adjustable. A rudimentary set up has been done and this bass could be gigged right now.
If you are not familiar with these, Jazz Bass Specials were made famous by Duff McKagan of Guns N Roses, and later of Velvet Revolver. These basses were made by Fender in Japan in the early years that were known for the best MIJ guitars, and were of better quality than the ones produced in the US. The bodies are probably basswood, as they are light. They have a control cavity routed in the back so there is no pickguard.
The necks all have a glossy black headstock, and a rosewood fretboard. The glossy black necks seem to be much more desirable, and this one is glossy black. Often times, the knobs are replaced. They came from Fender with F-logo plastic knobs that had a nubbly rubber grip around the edge. This guitar has the original knobs.
These are generally considered great basses. They sound good, play very well, and generally come in under 9 pounds.
Price is $450 or best offer. Cash is the only means of payment and offers that come by email will not be considered. Come look, touch, play, and make your best cash offer. I am flexible.
If you can see this ad, then it is still available. This is also on CL.

Best bass for metal!

Looking for intellectuals to play hard(space)rock (Levittown)

I am a guitar player with originals but love to team up and write.(space) I am a fan of English literature but the music will be street and hip like rock should be. If you hear the originals I have you'll understand I'm out to make a splash locally (or worldwide if that's your thing).(space) Nevertheless, I have something to bring to the scene if you're a vocalist(space removed),(space) bassist or drummer and you want to join me. My name is Mike. Contact me.

I lost it at "worldwide if thats your thing". Like, yeah, I want to start a garage band but I'd really rather make a global impact than a local one. Just what I'd prefer, imho.

That might be what you prefer, but I was planning to make a huge splash in my parents' basement. It's the place to be. Worldwide is for losers with no ambition.

Dang. I was going to give 'em a call until I noticed "western" was not in the bolded list.

No specific link but I've always loved the ones that post (usually in all caps) all the songs they know as if somehow a band magically has the exact same set list and they won't have to learn any new songs. I'm currently learning close to 100 songs for some fill in work and I'd say 90% of them I didn't already know.

When I moved from Seattle to KY I found myself learning stuff from a band I never even heard of - The Kentucky Headhunters.

BTW, in the next town over from me is the original "Dumas Walkers". Their burgers suck. They are also WAY overpriced.

I don't know, it does give you an idea of what they are really doing. terms like Post County Modern Alternative Western Punk Swing, you kind of wonder not what their focus is, but whether they can focus at all.

I emailed him an offer of 20 bucks just to see how he'd respond. He said he'd take no less than 15 because his power got shut off.
Alright, then.
