Just stumbled across this gem.
Hard to follow, but I think the jist is he doesn't appreciate black metal...

brand new genre forming: poor people rock... (west of hell)
I am a musician and former trend starter... my credits include "whatev", the small-billed fishing cap, bad DIY haircuts, and becoming a Christian because black metal is the worst music made by the worst people ever and f*** their neo-pagan asses. The Anti-blackmetal League of Christians for Jesus Because Black Metal Sucks So Why Not Society is not even in fashion yet, but I guarantee you, do enough yoga and bad psychedelics especially around members of this wretched midwestern population of demonic corn children and it might be en vogue very soon... oh and I also forgot to mention I invented Jenga, the hustle, and I wrote the script for The Departed... but that was a long time ago.
I play bass and guitar and I write songs and I think about things too much, but someone once said an unexamined life is not worth living, and that person was an ******* because an examined life is terrifying.
My influences are all music ever made except black metal. It's terrible and I honestly think everyone who listens to it is secretly a psychopath... because only a psychopath would listen to knives stabbing them in the ears while mortar shells are exploding in their faces and their families are screaming in bloody agony while being ripped apart by rabid lions and would enjoy it. No really... I get it. I just think it's terrible, and the point made by this terrible cacophony is nothing at all. Not even hatred... just negation of everything... just pure stupid brainless evil. I like music which doesn't make you feel like your soul is eternally being devoured by squid-like archons from a mind shattering parallel dimension straight out of HP Lovecraft and Aleister Crowley's worst nightmares... it just is very displeasing and in a world that already has so much pain and suffering in it why would it entertain me or inspire me to admire art that tortures my senses even more?
Okay enough about that. I get the feeling there will be some extremely negative responses to the sacrilege I just committed here with this post... but hopefully there are people out there who agree and who want to get far out and heavy without trying to scare people with monster sounds... I'm into psychedelic and heavy stuff as well as punk stuff and indie rock from the 80s and early 90s... even some thrash metal is cool... Kyuss, Wipers, Nirvana, Jesus Lizard, Sabbath... and Creedence Clearwater Revival, along with all the great 60s rock bands both garage and psychedelic and otherwise... all sorts of stuff, man. I can't begin to name even a small bit of all I've listened to over the years. More recently I've really been solely focused on my own ideas of music... and although they may not be the most unique or ultra-complicated ideas in the world, I think I've got an atmosphere going and I'd like to invite fellow musicians to join in on this brand new venture and help create that atmosphere with our combined creativity.
I've not made any plans about the future... where we can or cannot go. I suspect if it works, it will go where it goes.
And that's it. I'm a pretty good guy but I don't want to waste any more time with people who clearly should not be either making music or influencing others because I give horrible people too much benefit of the doubt and it's really tiring, ya know? Horrible people make life very tiring, especially the tedium of sifting through strangers to try and find a trustworthy individual who isn't full of his own backed up excrement.
My words are flowery, though. Intended to ward off scoffers and hypocrites. I'm pretty easy going in person... and I don't care if you drink or smoke the whatever it is as long as it's managable and you're not stealing things. That's a big thing... is trust, not just can you be at practice weekly, but can I trust you as a friend and a confidant? I'd like to find out. So send me an email and I'll be happy to rant more about all sorts of things to you...
Thanks,
Andrew
