Dumbest thing you've seen someone do onstage

Here's the Narvia thing that was talked about on the first page :)

i cant see what happens, i only see like th strap and then he fell to the ground... the funny thing though is that kirk is just standing there singing and playing while the bassist is being a clown behind him.. it looks damn stupid and suddenly he just turns around and kicks him in the ass, lol ?

At a double billed gig a few years ago myself and the other bands bassist were sharing my rig.We are good friends and lent gear to each other a lot. During my set I noticed that the stage on my side had a bit of a bend in it and was moving up and down with the groove. He had a tendency to jump up and down A LOT, and I warned him that it didn't feel good.About half way through his set he forgot and put in some big leaps up and down in the one spot.Wound up playing the rest of the song with his bass under his chin and the rest of his body under the stage.Lucky he was a tall dude and his feet were on the floor under the stage.

Same guy also liked to take his fender off and spin it around in the palm of his hand, neck pointing straight up.He held it up too high one night and it got stuck in the ceiling tiles above the stage and wouldn't come out.
My only regret is on both occasions I'd left my camera at home.(it is usually in my bass case.)

Years ago this electronic punk band opened for my then-band at a local dive bar. The lead singer banged on this casio during their set and used an ironing board as a keyboard stand. During the closing number he thought it'd be a good idea to hurl himself onto the keyboard and "stand" while still singing.

In an amazingly loud instant, the singer, the keyboard, the ironing board, and the mic all crashed to the stage...eventually going in different directions. The singer got up dazed and bloodied (nose and hand IIRC) and the band just stopped mid-song to see if he was ok. End of set.

That was a tough act for my band to follow.

I just remembered good old Eddie - the Iron 'f-in' Maiden mascot - I really don't see how much more ridiculous it can get when you have a dude on stilts staggering around the stage "lookin' all scary" ... puhleeze ... Until they topped themselves with the 'inflatible Eddie' - gud gawd! Did they think Spinal Tap was serious?

Run to the hiiiilllllllssss!
run for your liiffffeeee!

Hey look! there's a big 'ol monster on stage - cool! uh huh huh
I bet he needs TP for his big 'ol monster bung hole! heh heh heh..

Basses Loaded 6
Jeff Berlin
Solo arrangement of 'Tears in Heaven'

Mr. B forgot to check his tuning before walking on stage. He had to stop the solo, retune, and then continue.

The bass wasn't just a little out of tune either. Absolutely mortifying.

Yea, Tim climbed on top of a speaker and refused to get down because he lost in an award to fred durst:smug: If anyone has a link shwoing a video of that, tell me! i would LOVE to see it!

Incorrect.

Tim climbed part of the stage set, which was this lightning bolt looking thing that went some 25 feet in the air. He then refused to come down. He got arrested for it too. Fred said something corny to the extent of "...thats Rage Against the Machine for ya...".

And, I too think RATM should of won that award.

Steven Pearcy of Ratt. Two things, same night. This is about 6 years ago, long after they'd stopped making new tunes.

On one song, when he was supposed to sing the high notes, he yelled "YOU sing it" and stopped to let us sing the notes he couldn't.

Later, he asked the crowd if anyone had some weed for him.

No, we didn't pay. A friend working at a movie theater helped Bobby Blotzer with directions or something and he put us on the guest list.

You asked for it...

My band (Zug Zug) was playing a gig at the Middle East Cafe in Boston around 1990. Headlining the show was punk legend GG Allin, under an assumed name because he was supposedly banned from playing anywhere in Boston. He came out in a dress, then proceeded to take a bottle of Heineken and stick it up his butt, shake it around, then drink from it.

1. I saw the Greg Kihn band (remember them?) opening for Journey at the Assembly Hall in Champaign, IL. The guitarist steps out front to do a solo, steps on his cable and pulls it out of his guitar. Nothing new, but funny nonetheless.

2. This one I found genuinely amusing. I was watching Scorpions in Springfield, IL when Klaus Meine (singer) starts whipping his mic around like Roger Daltry. Unfortunately, when he let it go, it had a bit of arc on it. When he started stepping backwards to catch it, he tripped and fell right on his butt. This was of course followed by a loud crack of the mic hitting the stage. I went to the show only expecting a lot of heavy metal strutting, and got a comedy number as well. Definitely got my money's worth.

I actual saw the wooten bros. have a rather histerical goof up. Regi, Victor and sone others were going to do that thing where you throw the bass around your body letting the strap keep it from going flying. Well, Regi's strap came off and he chucked his guitar about 10 feet right into the drums. It was a huge crash and left the band in stiches. Its nice to know that guys as awesome as them have stupid moments just like the rest of us.

Some guy that I know who's more about looks and style than music through his guitar over his shoulder and hit a hanging monitor and broke the headstock off.

Noob.

I saw a guy do the same thing except the headstock hit one of the drummers stands and ended up in the crowd. The kid who caught the headstock held it up and looked around with a very confused look on his face then he tried to get to the stage to give it back. The guitar that got destroyed was a custom instrument that cost the owner a few thousand dollars (the player was borrowing it). It was a very good laugh.
