I went to a Fall Out Boy concert this past year, and during one of the last songs Pete Wentz being the showman that he is went to spin his bass around him, and............the strap broke causing the bass to fly into the mosh pit, being that Pete Wentz is just recently famous his instincts kicked in and he dove after it as if it were made of gold...... His tech ran and dove after him to retrieve it also when finally he returned to the stage his shirt was ripped up as hell it was funny........lol

Dumbest thing you've seen someone do onstage

almost forgot at the battle of the bands a couple years ago these to dudes from one of the performing acts played swordfight with a guitar and a bass, lol, what happened a wrecked Musicman and a ravaged Les Paul Junior.....also...i got a peice of the music man.......lol...True Story

Alright, I was at a small club here in Amarillo in the mid '90s watching a popular local band called Ice Cold July. The stage was about 4 inches higher than the floor and there's this drunken idiot standing right up front with his right foot up on the stage, pumpin' his fist in the air, y'know. So, the guitar player starts into a solo and heads for the backline, presumably to adjust something, and this drunk guy is standing on his cable, which pulls out of his guitar - Solo Over, but the band played on. Then, drunk boy tries to pick up the cable and give it back but he just falls down and ends up laying half on the stage and half on the floor. The band was obviously mad but they were really cool about it. Later, this really, really old guy came up on stage and kept trying to put his hat on the singer. I have no idea what that was about. Sometimes, it's the fans that do really stupid stuff on stage...
I also saw a guitar player in a christian rock band do a back flip off of an upright piano with his guitar still strapped on. It worked, but it was still a really bad idea.
I was in a band (many moons ago) that covered Bowie's "Space Oddity". We were playing acoustic (well, I wasn't) in this coffee house.
The part in the middle of the song with all the silly sound effects was replaced by mostly me doing a giant slide all the way up my fretless. I get ready for it... step out front for my bright-shining-fretless-slide-of-glory and *POP*...

so i was seeing this ska band streetlight manifesto and they had just recently been robbed of all their gear. so this really bad pop punk/emo band is opening for them and their singer says 'if you throw money up here i swear we will give every bit of it to streetlight to help them.'
everyone threw coins at them for the rest of their set.

Dumbest thing? Seeing a local punk band go up on stage, totally out of tune and then not noticing throughout their set, even when 4 other bands are shouting and telling them they're out.
