Dunlop Strings - one word "Wow"

I really enjoy playing d'addario for it's brightness. How does Dunlop's nickel compare to d'addario?

I like both. Dunlops are a little more middy and feel a little better. I had actually settled on D'Addario as my strings even though I like Dunlops better. But at $25 for TWO sets, I had decided that D'Addario was close enough. Imagine my excitement when I found Dunlops at $18 for two sets!

I was wondering if anybody has had any issues with string length when going through the body? I'd like to buy multiples, but I just want to make sure I won't have problems, with several sets sitting on my shelf. Thanks.

No problems stringing through body on my G&L L2500 or my Peavey Millennium 35" scale. Dunlops are very similar to DR in that regards. With good reason I guess, seeing who designed them.

OK guys, after reading all these posts, I may be interested in trying some out. But first.. IMO DR Fat Beams are the tone standard. Unfortunately they are pricey and go dead in a month or so.. D'Addario Pro Steels are a reasonable approximation, and the set of Cleartones I have now exceeded my tone/life expectations. Does the Dunlop string compare favorably tone wise to these?

I think people need to realize that every good string doesn't match every bass for every player. That being said. I use mostly flats and when I use rounds like nickel L0-riders.

Just put a set of Dunlop Nickels on a new to me Guild B-301 and it sings. Great for my rock project. Cheaper than DR too!

Man, I am telling you the people at Dunlop strings know what they are doing!!!

These strings are awesome!!!

The brightest, clearest nickels and the deepest, fullest stainless steels I have ever played.

I used to think Daddario's were good, but they don't even compare to these Dunlops!

The Dunlop's also play easier and last longer than other strings!

:hyper:
:bassist:

I have made the switch to Dunlop!

I tried Dunlop strings 45-125 on my 5ver Music Man Sterling and right out of the box, the B string was completely DEAD! I call ed the company and they sent me a new set. I have them on my bass right now and they sound ok, but WAY too much fret noise and finger noise and for me, they have out of tune harmonic noise! I can't wait to get them off and go back to Dean Markley SR 2000's!! I just paid $40 w/ tx and want to get some use out of them. But I will NEVER put them on my bass again.

I just bought 2 sets for my P-basses.(MIM & Squier)
I've been hearin some good things (on TB) bout them, and I walked in to GC to see what they had for strings..the dude starts talkin away...Told em I was lookin for a new string to try out,(Usually use DRs..& still do on my 5er) and he suggested the Dunlop Nickels.(45-105).

I'll throw em on tonite..hope theyre good.

O...and they were like $19 a set....at GC... So..they passed the first test. ;)

Ill letcha know how I like em.
Cuz I know you care. :D
