EBMM StingRay Special Club

Anyone have good picture or pictures of the Cherry Punch?
Hopefully someone here can oblige; but in the meantime, email Ernie Ball and request some real photos (if you haven’t already). I did that for some colors I was interested in for my “custom design experience” build. One color in real life they sent and it matched the web photo. Another they sent was quite different between the web and real life.

Selling my special edition.

why

I bought my beloved StingRay Special from a drummer who wasn’t quite sure what to do with it after he acquired it. This bass is well-balanced, weighs less than eight pounds, has a fast oiled neck and has that signature StingRay sound. I get more compliments when I play it than when I play all of my other basses combined.

Great color and I like the white pickups. What is your favorite tone setting on this bass?

Is it silver or blue?

Thinking about putting flats on my Stingray Special 5H, and my first thought was cobalt flats. They now cost $70 for a 5 string set! Any suggestions for other good options?
I love my cobalt flats, and they probably last long enough to warrant the price. If you don’t need new strings immediately, there’s always a chance that they’ll randomly go on sale on Amazon or Sweetwater.

Otherwise, if you need new strings immediately and you really want them to be flats, I’d try Chromes. Look for ECB81-5. I haven’t personally tried them yet, but they’re on my short list of strings I want to check out next.

How much time are you getting from yours?
Good question, I’m not sure yet. The set on my StingRay is newer than the set on my Sire V7, and I haven’t killed either yet. The set on my V7 went on in early February, and to my ear, they just keep sounding better. I actually need to spend some more time on the Ray to get those strings equally broken in – the Sire has gotten a ton of play time recently because the tone sounds so nice right now.
