Didn't the UN announce an international task force yesterday?
A big risk is ahead if the spread is not contained before flu season. It will complicate screening immensely.
I dont want to wallow in the political mire, but this so called "24 hr a day fear factory" is all we got!
As previously stated, the CDC are deliberately withholding information and the information which is disclosed is tweaked and twisted to suit the image of the CDC.
Id have a hell of a lot more respect for Puppet Frieden if he would just say:
Hey look people, theres a lot of stuff we don't really know about the Ebola virus. We're learning more as each day passes. We've made many errors these past few weeks and are taking the necessary steps to correct them. My superiors are meticulously censoring the advisories we provide, and I do apologize for that. And when this is all over, Im going to Disneyland.

I'm curious what you mean about the 24 hour fear factory being all we've got? I think it's shocking the way most news is presented. No depth, no context, poorly researched, agenda driven, and with zero follow up. It's like a constant succession of things that will kill you or ruin your life, most never to be heard about again ever by the next day. It's a method of control and it's a shame we fall for it. The noise blocks the real problems we should be addressing.
And if we get fed up with it, we turn to even more hysterical conspiracy sites that are even less credible but that give the appearance of getting at the truth the mainstream media is 'hiding'.
I recently saw the movie Contagion (2011) In the film a bat-poop virus finds its way into a pig and then into a promiscuous American played by Gwyneth Paltrow who quickly dies as "patient zero"
It was loosely based on the present Ebola pandemic we are now battling. Wait,... What???
It was an okay movie, more believable than Outbreak because it didnt involve all the evil-military-conspiracy-to-create-a-biological-superweapon-at-all-cost nonsense.
what i meant about the 24 hour fear factory being all we've got, is theres five of six news stations made available by our media provider. (Los Angeles area) So, we can either get the news from a newspaper (L.A. Times which is borderline statist/socialist), or watch CNN, HLN FOX, MSNBC, CNBC, etc..
Like you pointed out ,.. they all "sell" the news for shock value. The more shocking the news, the more viewers, the higher ratings, yielding more $$$ per minute of adverts.
It matters not when I click on the TV to watch the news; the coverage is usually the same
CNN will be covering Hillary Clinton's Fund-Raiser in Nebraska or Kentucky. Or any story with a Clinton in it.
FOX will have a panel of retired generals banging their fists into their palms demanding We need more boots on the ground!! bla bla bla!
MSNBC will have a schoolboy and his mum via video-link talking about dealing with bullies at school. *facepalm*
HLN will be covering the Jodi Arias trial, or have a panel of lawyers discussing the trial. Or anything remotely related to Jodi Arias.
CNBC is sometimes actually pretty good, but god,,, its usually so boring.
So, I have these news outlets or i just get news from hysterical conspiracy sites on the internet.

Try reading from reliable sources, such as the NIH, CDC, US Public Health Service, WHO, and just about any college or university with a decent biology program. Many have free educational information on the subject of Ebola, viruses, and infectious diseases. Go to the library or bookstore and get a textbook on the subject. It's out there, and if your really concerned about what Ebola is and how it spreads, make the effort to learn. Beats being overly frightened for no reason. The bottom line in any emergency is not to panic. Panic only makes things worse and more difficult to overcome. 
You should try to watch the BBC - it is much better. Al Jazeera is also excellent for reasonably less-biased news.

Seems they are now shifting the blame to to health care workers themselves. They did possibly something to "compromise" their own safety.
I think we are going to see nurses and others "opting out" of helping with the care of these patients. I can't say I blame them.

It was based on a book called "The Hot Zone" about a real life incident near DC where a monkey containment facility became a playground for a Marburg virus. The scary part about it was that the virus managed to mutate & spread airborne but thankfully this also prevented it from spreading to humans.
I just watched the Dallas Mayors press conference and am left with little hope that they have any clue what they're doing down there. The amount of blame shifting and "I don't knows" are worrisome. Has anyone else watched the press conference? The hospital reps are very clearly overwhelmed. They literally had to push the hospital rep to the mic at one point when he was asked a question.
You ever notice how every movie featuring deadly colored water in glass tubes with metal ends- which must be slid carefully from a large metal apparatus which is set to explode over a large city is a crap movie? The only ones that can get away with this prop are Bond films. The rest are junk.
I have noticed this and it's why I tend to stay away from Michael Bay films.
