Try the Innovation Braided Solo string tuned town or maybe Evah Solos tuned down.
If there are Zyex in Solo tuning, you might consider them too.
If you don't care about the rolling, you might want to try Obligato Solo tuned down.
They are all much better with bowing than any Velvet string I have used.
But all these are flat-wound. Only some wound gut strings are roundwound (and most strings for EBG...).
The Silver Slaps can be bowed if you put some rosin in the bowed area of the strings. But they are not the best for orchestra. THe Sustain fits well to the gut sustain, a bit longer than the gut. Don't compare the wound synthetic string to the monofiber ones like whackers, the wound synthetics have a much longer sustain. You might want to get a set used to try them out.
Some people like Spiro Solos tuned down with gut. Maybe the 4/4 Solos to get a better tension match to the gut.
