Ever hate strings so much you want them off right away?

Anything by Ernie Ball or D'Addario. They sound too clanky to my ears.
On the subject of removing strings, don't use cutters! The sudden change in tension isn't exactly a good thing for the neck. Just unwind them slowly. Once the strings are off, then have some fun cutting up the ones that you love to hate!

Years ago I did a shootout for brands I hadn't tried before. I don't remember which sets they were exactly, but the Warwicks I tried felt so terribly floppy that I didn't even bother trying what they sounded like after tuning. All strings were in gauges similar to the DR Black Beauties I used at the time, so it was quite surprising. Another great disappointment in the same batch were coated Pyramid strings, they sounded dead right out of the box.
Yes, the venerable TI Flats. They sounded like guitar strings to me so I doubt they stayed on for an hour. I'm sure if I had been more patient they would have improved over time, but I just wasn't feeling them.
D'addario. Bought a set, put them on, the e string broke in an hour. Bought a second set because I spaced on what brand had previously had and they broke.
Never again.

I didn't even get past the E string on a set of D'addario XL's, that is when I knew dead rounds or flats for me, fresh rounds are way to clanky for my taste
Flats. Don't remember what brand I put on my fretless P, (it was 25 years ago...) yuck. Recently (5 years ago) had a set of jazz flats given to me for electric guitar, put them on my "toy" I plink on and hated them. Dead sounding from the beginning. No flat wound strings for me.
I tried to figure out which type of string is not hated by anyone in this thread and I am not sure that there is a last man standing, so to speak. I want to know which are the least hated strings and work from that ..ha.
My bias: GHS Boomers were my least fav - very stiff and clanky to begin, and died dramatically within a couple of weeks. But that's obviously just me, since these are popular strings, available in most music stores I have seen. I have read good things about GHS flats and pressure wounds on TB, but I suppose my negative experience with Boomers has diverted my purchases to other brands.
So far, it seems like the least amount of hate goes to (maybe) >
SS Rounds? LaBella Hard Rockin' Steel are good feeling, long lasting strings, with just the right tension for me.

I'm not a fan of GHS Boomers either. Fastest dying string I've ever used, next to Rotosound SS.
While I am a HUGE fan of DR strings, I couldn't believe how much I disliked DR Neon's. I put them on and played them less than an hour before I had to get them off. Both the tone (or lack of) and the sticky feel just made these a non-starter for me.
Yep ... nearly every time I try something other than my preferred brand. I usually give 'em away to someone who wants 'em, or to the guy who runs a local open mic and provides a house bass rig and bass guitar.
Only one's for be were Ernie Ball Super Slinky's. They were so bright out of the package they came off the next day when I coud go buy replacements. I've been a DR guy ever since, high beams or low riders on all my stuff.
