Ten gallon hat guy in front of you.
Miss Bessie out on the town with the giant floppy hat in front of you.
Just went and saw Ant Man and The Wasp on Wednesday at 12:30. Maybe 20 people in the theater. Nice and quiet. And only $6 per ticket. Other than stupid pricey popcorn and soda, no complaints here.
I'm gonna get amc's service that's similar. Twice as much but with the ability to buy ahead and see movies more than once.I have Moviepass so I see most of what's out there. My closest theater doesn't carry many movies so I go to that, an art house type a half hour away and a couple of others. They're all very clean. I usually go when there isn't a crowd and often have an entire theater to myself. Last movies I saw were Three Identical Strangers, Sorry To Bother You, The Incredibles 2, Sicarioay of..., Uncle Drew, Ant Man, Skyscraper, The First Purge, etc. Were they all terrible? Not IMO. I'm not complaining evening if I wasn't only spending $10 a month. I'll probably see the new Mission Impossible, Christopher Robin, might even see The Spy Who Dumped Me and The Meg too this week.
Moviepass is cool but there really aren't enough movies, good or bad to see a different one every day. Not that five or more a month is bad. It's kind of amazing that more people don't know about it. I tell people about it and they look at me like I'm trying to sell them Amway. Hey, spend that money.

The movie I'm most looking forward to comes out next month.

I've been happy with movie pass. But all the theaters I go to anyway are amc and it has two major plusses for me: being able to buy ahead at a reserved seating theater suits my fear of crowds better, and there are so few good movies out that when I see one I like I'd want to see it again. But movie pass was great while I had it. No complaints here but I'm willing to pay $20 a month instead of $10 for what I'm getting from amc. I also don't care about 3d or Imax. I can't actually enjoy 3d movies because my eyes have uneven wear and tear. 3d might be cool for people who don't get headaches from it but I suspect it's stupid.I've been enjoying the BS stories about Moviepass that sound like they're paid for by AMC. I'm not getting the AMC offer because 3D/IMAX isn't important to me and it's limited to one theater chain. I don't need to reserve a seat either so that's a non-benefit too.
AMC's only legit beef with Moviepass is that they beat them to the punch. All of the complaining about Moviepass harming the industry is pure BS IMO. Moviepass pays the full ticket price for whatever movies I see so the harm is...?
I just saw Don't Worry, He Won't Get Away. Good movie.
Hey... I ain’t no one a dem der teenagers dag gummit. This isn't really "good movie" season. They put Oscar worthy movies out in the fall/winter so they're fresh in the minds of Academy voters. Summer movies are just a blockbuster money grab. Lotsa superhero flicks to lure in the teenagers moolah.
Funny thing is that I worked in a few dine in theaters and found that when it comes to customers, 90% of the time its the adults on their phones. Its like people 40+ dont think the rules apply to them because a work email is more legit than a facebook feed.Phones are killing the service industry. I have disciplined or terminated many teens/young adults because they can’t stay on task or complete a task. It is maddening.
