Explain the Fender is God thang and someone post pics of a couple of Ibanezes? Look around when you go to concerts, no one is playing an Ibanez! Half of my friends are bassplayers and i've been playing like 38 years, none have an Ibanez!!! look at any concert on TV and you will not see an Ibanez!!! For those of you who love Ibanez and hate Fender please keep that to your self and stop with the Fender bashing threads!!! I owned an Ibanez for 6 weeks and returned it for full credit, I told the guitar associate I could not get it to sound like anything regardless to how hard I tried!!! As far as Fender goes the amount of people playing them where ever you go with all the basses in the world out there including IBANEZ should tell you something! The amount of people who have gone full circle and came back to Fender should tell you something! Just notice when you come across concerts on TV, random pics of groups playing, or just musical situations where a bassist is present I bet a good amount of time the bassist is playing a Fender! Fender is not the God of all basses but the quintessential meat and potatoes bass. I understand why some bassist like boutique basses, I have friends with Fodera's, Cirruses, NYBW's Clifford Roi's, Mtd's and most of these guy's have something in common, they own at least one Fender! So if you want to be different that's fine but if and when you settle down musically and realize it's about the music and not you ego, your lifestyle, your dress code or lack of, how many disruptions you can make to your personal appearance (dude and dudettes) and just want to professionally play or want to be a part of a real situation then and only then will you begin to understand what Fender basses are all about!
