My name is from a song called "The Call of Ktulu" by Metallica (my favorite band of all time). :D
pretty one, but did anybody read something from H.P.Lovecraft?

Yea, but that was spelled Cthulu. There was another god, but I don't remember how to spell his name. Anyone know what it is?:D

Rock on
Eric

Perhaps Nyarlathotep? (don't remember how to spell)
Lots of heavy rock musicians (which I'm not) love Lovecraft (°_°), eg Iron Maiden - great Steve Harris!!!
But you don't have to be tired when reading his novels, 'cause they're a bit boring!

actually, the spelling is cthulhu, and the character is a dark god, a giant with the head of an octopus - they also got the song "the thing that should not be" from master from the same character, in fact that is the title of one of the stories.

if you are interested in reading about it, the books are fairly common in any book store in the horror section. published in anthologies by del rey, there are...

1. "the best of hp lovecraft - blood curdling tales of horror and the macabre"

2. "the dream quest of hp lovecraft - dreams of terror and death"

3. "the trasition of hp lovecraft - the road to madness"

these are, like i said, anthologies, collections of his short stories. all good reading, definitely classics.
I don't know if it's inside one of these anthologies, but have a look at "The unknown kadath"

yeah, it's actually called "the dream quest of unknown kadath", and it is one of many stories, like "the silver key" and "the statement of randolph carter" that deal with this guy, randolph carter, obviously, who travels to another world in his dreams. it was inspired partially by the martian tales of edgar rice burroughs, where john carter goes to mars from earth, but kadath is a much more frightening place. :D :D

btw, it's in "the dream cycles of hp lovecraft"

who u think is better poe or lovecraft. both are a big influence in music.

that is not dead which can eternal lie, yet with stranger eons even death may die- H.P. Lovecraft (not metallica, and not maiden- though both have quoted it)

by the way my name comes from my band, we are a hybrid of blues, jazz, grateful dead style jam stuff, and this very omni-present creepy ambience wah/delay driven sound. The name came from my guitarist's semi-photographic memory which drove him to nigh-genious in physics and he made the connection saying he understands physics as if it were music, and he says he can almost hear it. It fit well for our unique sound.

djproject...

First off, someone asked me if I do spin techno (because of the name). With that in mind, I don't.

The name is a play on my initials: D(erek) J(ohn) P(ower). The "project" was because nearly everything I do is a "project." It is the name I wish to have as a business doing music production and maybe film production as well.

(Also, to be even further off topic, my bass name is Rachel. The origin comes from one of the Smashing Pumpkins demos that will appear in "Pastichio Medley" on the Zero single/EP or the 3rd disc of The Aeroplane Flies High. That song will become "XYU" from the more familiar Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Not only do I like the song but I like the name as well. Besides it fits well because I can see my bass transform into a beautiful woman... sort of a Pygmalion thing I guess. :):D)

There is no dark side of the moon really... matter of fact it's all dark...

Actually, Pkr2 is my real name.

I was named after my grandfather who played electric bass with the group called Titania. You will probably remember his band as the group that played " Nearer My God To Thee" as the Titanic sank.

As a memorial to my grandfather, all the males in my family have been named Pkr2 since his death in 1901.

I'm pretty sure that the literal translation of my name means " looks like a greek god, plays like an angel but will never get beyond four strings".
