...But, I was a kid back in the 60's. It was a different world, then. No, really, it was.

It sure was. Two of my favorite toys:

Mercury--The dentist gave it to you to play with while you waited for your parents. Eventually, you would lose the globules behind furniture in your house. Of course, the amount pales by comparison with the quantity still in your fillings.

Asbestos--Yep, you could buy it at hobby shops. They called it Angel Rock, or Fairy Rock. I think the purpose was vaguely educational. I had a big ol' chunk myself. But that's ok--there was plenty of asbestos in the filtered Kent cigarettes Mom smoked when she was pregnant!

Ah, yeah. The 60s. A time of metal dashboards, carcinogenic schools, and ungrounded amplifiers.

Yep. You name it, I tried it. When I was growing up though banana seats with sissy bars were totally unacceptable if you wanted your bike to be cool. I ditched every single one that ever came on a bike I had. Remember those multi-colored plastic tassles that came on them too? What a trip. Or clothes pinning playing cards to the front and back of the frame to get an "engine" sound?

You forgot the visors for tanning in the sun with baby oil. I'm proud to have survived as a child of the 60s!

Of course there's something to be said for old Hot Wheels. The ones with the redline tires. Mattel. Righteous. All metal. Painted graphics. SUPERCHARGER!!!

I'm glad I'm too old to have had a toy made by a company with a frightful name like Galoob.

EDIT: is that a GP-40? With the 4 exhausts..I don't think its a GP-38-2

I'm guessing they were looking at the pics of the Maersk painted ATSF GP60M and NS SD40-2, and kinda stuck them in the blender...

Heck yeah. Schwinn stingray with some hollow forks from a donor ten speed.

Atari 2600. I was about 6 when I got my first one. Loved it.

"Hot Seat" big wheel. Kind of a 3 wheel chopper sorta big wheel. Don't remember the age at which I got it, but I wore out the tires on that thing.

Star Wars and Transformers, in general. I had a bunch of that stuff.
