Yeah, me and my step brother had an HO set that I was into for a couple years before I phased out of it. The store we had was Frank's Hobby Shop.

70s kid here - man, it would be hard to pick, depends on exactly what age we're talking about. But I think the one that stands out would be... MICRONAUTS!

But I did have....jeese....all the cool Cobra stuff. I never sent in the points to get the hooded cobra commander though...

I had the Hooded Cobra Commander. Don't turn his head at all. The head fell off within the first 2 weeks, requiring a repair job so quickly after its arrival. I became quite good at repairing the GI Joe's (replacing broken O-rings, etc.)

That screw in the back of the body....It begged you to swap legs and arms.

Can't forget the robotech toys....wich must have been from the same company as the Battletech game. And there were models from the japanese company that were the same design.

What was that toy / hobby store in all the malls???

Had one of these sets with extra track and a bunch of cars. At the time they were the ultimate home slot car sets.

Dad owned a couple of hobby shops in early and mid 60s so had access to most everything. Slot cars from HO to 1/32 to 1/24 or 1/25. U-Control and radio control airplanes, trains, model cars, model about everything,

I got my wife slot cars for her birthday a few years back- it worked out fine as it got me and the kids playing together, off TV/computer/video games for awhile.

I'm 18 and we did this when we were kids as well. They really are freedom machines

Big +1. 70's for me, though. Nothing I loved more than riding and tinkering with my bike. I can remember all the bicycles I ever had through the years too, liked 'em all for different reasons.
