I get the Bowie thing from everyone that hears that song, and for the life of me I don't hear it. I have to agree though, as it's a consistent comment.
Well, it's a huge compliment. Bowie has always been a real master at making rock/art/pop/new wave that had some real heart, and good stories in the lyrics. Many times, you hear a great song by some unknown, only to find out Dave had some hand in the production somewhere. What he did for Iggy and Lou's albums was fantastic, too.
It's not so much that it sounds like Dave, it's that it has this vague similarity as far as the mood.
It reminded me more of the Rats. Geldoff is one of the most under appreciated artists I can think of. He's really very good.
