The one thing that i would add to really make the project perfect would be a limiter.

So:

- preamp/di
- footswitchable boost
- 3 band Eq on a footswitch
- lPF thumpinator
- limiter

That to me would be an absolute cream dream and would allow me to take off a number of pedals.

Thanks for the suggestion. Why didn't you have Max integrate a limiter if you are going with a custom build?

That's 1 better than 600!:D Thanks for your patience... we didn't build any DB-CL's in 2014. 2014 was the year of the Opti-FET and DE-CL.

I will say this, I have been trying my best to keep the main board PT-Pro size but the DB-CL is making me want a bigger board. The DB-CL would be amazing early in my chain. The crossover is much useful than I ever thought. You can use it to get an amazing thump! Honestly, it would be great to have one at the beginning of the chain and a second one at the end. What you can do after fuzz, amazing!

Congrats to all you guys who got your DB-CLs recently! I've had mine since 2013 and it's probably the one piece of gear on my board that you'll hafta pry out of my cold, dead hands! It's my "Always on" pedal and it completely rocks! I don't spend too much time fiddling with it, as I've dialed in what seems to work for me, but I may try a few different settings as I change up a few other things on the board.

I've had some other great comps(MXR M87, Empress<--which I REALLY liked!), and I see other sweet looking compressors(Smoothie, Cali, the new Darkglass comp<--looks awesome! I love Darkglass stuff!), but I know in my heart that while they might sound as good as my DB-CL, they're not gonna sound better, so I really have no reason to try 'em. The DB-CL is so good, I really don't have any compressor GAS(even though I said that I'd like to try the Darkglass)...

If there's another compressor in my life, it'll be in addition to my DB-CL and it'll probably be mounted in my rack(Warm Audio WA76???:bag:)

Bottom line; FEA Labs stuff is DA' BOMB! :bassist::thumbsup:

You should. I have been playing around with the DB-CL at the beginning of my chain and the 6176 at the end, it's a great combo. Definitely get a WA76 :)

Well tonight I discovered how awesome the limiter is on the DE-CL! I was actually able to enjoy myself and concentrate on the material at my dance band rehearsal tonight without twiddling knobs or baby sitting the clip light on our Presonus 16.0.2 digital mixer. Even with mixers built in compressor/limiter I've struggled getting a hot enough signal so the bass doesn't sound anemic and not clip the channel when my playing gets aggressive or I step on effects. Went from using heavy octave pedal on the intro of 99 Red Balloons and Everybody Wants to Rule the World to thumbing the bass line to Material Girl and I barely had to mess with the mix. Best bass tone I've yet been able to achieve thru our PA (it almost sounded like I knew what I was doing) and most of the band even complemented me on it.

I waffled back and forth for a while but the Diamond was official booted off my pedal-board a couple weeks ago and after tonight it will be hitting the classifieds.

I for one would love to know what settings you used on your DE-CL. I've had one for a couple of weeks now (and I also use a 16.4.2AI board) and have yet to find a good setting that works well with the board.
