fEARful 1212/6, first build!!

His experience with his cab does not align with mine. I have owned/used the following greenboy cabs: 12/6/1, 15/6, 1212/6, 1515/66/1, F112, F115, F212, DuallyT, Bassic 12, Bassic 15.

My experience is that my 15/6 more than keeps up with any 410 I've played and my double 15 fEARful rig can out-volume a 810 without much of a sweat. It also out lows it and out 'clears' it. In some cases it's been competitive or louder than some stages' FOH sound.

At a minimum i would remove the X'd regions.

My damping wasn't as dense (2+ inches of polyester batting) but my recollection is that on the back of the cab it's a good idea to stop a couple inches north of the port shelf. so as not to choke the porting. Here's mine looking slightly ragged from a bunch of fussing about and changes across the first six months I owned it.

Good!! I really don't want to change the sound in any way...learn something new every time I'm on TB....thanks for the help Foz and Burning Skies, once this is finished I really don't wanna mess with it if I can avoid it

(side note) You getting any gigs around Wahiawa? I was at Schofield Barracks many years ago, and we had to get out away from that area to find some jobs to play. Maybe things have changed.

Okay, I've seen people put foam on the back of the mid chamber but read that back of baffle doesn't need it, any thoughts on this??

I did. Just because it was easy enough to do.

Okay, well I got the baffle on, I used screws and my two big clamps...

I also used more PL than planned, but after I clamped it I wiped off most the excess, plus the duratex will hide it im sure...

I got the clamps as tight as they'll get!!, I'm liking how this is turning out

Yeah, sorry about that!! It should be tomorrow according to the tracking number, it went to Iowa before going to California...i appreciate all the help BTW

Cut foam to size and glued to top...

And the top is glued and screwed on and then some, this time the pilot holes worked against me a little(actually same with the baffle), I have everything clamped to the point of all the excess PL oozing out the sides which I wiped as clean as possible...I also attached a popsicle stick from my wife's craft stuff to fill a gap I made on the mid chamber with the power sander(oops)...

I'm gonna let this sit until Friday night, maybe Sat, then I can proceed with routing then painting.....hopefully the drivers/x-over parts will be here by then.....

It's been real fun so far, I really wanna do this again someday(maybe the famed "66"??!!) and doing it 100% right, but I'm treating this build like its my last cuz you never knows what awaits tomorrow...ill probably sell my Hartke cabs once this is done as I lack space right now...I ran out of spray adhesive otherwise I would've put some egg crate on the cross beam...

Edit: Oh yeah, found a big ass sheet of maple plywood on the side of the road(in background 1st pic), I'm gonna figure out how to build a rack case for my GK800RB and put latches on to attach to my 1212/6....
