Just had to share a pic of my "66" setup on stage during the black history month concert in Edmonton here last weekend!! Had an 810 last year and I have to say that 810 did not hold a candle to the fEARful. It was truly a pleasure for both me, the other players and for the sound men mixing the sound on stage. So clean and even sounding no matter where one stood on stage!! Never played through such a punchy clean cab with a bottom end that does not fart out!! I gave every other bass player there the fEARful fEVEr. Feel kinda guilty for making them all dissatisfied with their bass cabs. But hey I guess it just means that many more bass players looking into fEARful what could be wrong with that??? :D

Great looking rig! I haven't gigged or rehearsed with my 15/6/1 yet, but I am really enjoying playing with it at home. The response is so even, and since it doesn't have much of a built-in sound, it really takes eq well, which shocked me. It sounds rich and full, but with just a bit of eq tweaking it can get midrangey, clanky, and aggressive. The clarity with chords is also very good. I guess I'm actually hearing what my amp is putting out for the first time.

Does anybody have an idea how the typical fEARful cab compares sound-wise to the Barefaced designs?

Barefaced will be a little different up top but I expect the tuning of the low end is very very similar.

Alex uses different midrange drivers and different crossovers. So it'll be a little different.

Doh! Timing. :( I'm just starting a 15/6 build, but probably won't have it completed in time for your Atlanta gig (I'm about an 1.5hr West of ATL, on your way from B'ham). I've got a gig in Phenix City, AL on the 2nd and was hoping to have it done for that, but it'll probably take me a little longer as I don't have the mid or xover. I'll have to wait to order that on the 1st. If something changes and I get it done early, I'll give you a shout!

Edit: clever way to plug your tour sched!

Alright. I know this is 14 parts into this fEARful thing, but I am curious. I have two GK 700RB II's and I run them seperate into two seperate (old) Acoustic 106 (2X15) cabs.
I run stereo, wheras each pickup goes into a seperate amp and cab.
Would it be a better thing to have just two single 15 cabs of some fEARful design doing the same thing instead of all that Acoustic hugeness?
I am just poking around here and just want an opinion.
Tell me to go take a hike if you need to. I probably couldn't afford these awesome looking cabs anyway. But I don't know.

Oh man...well, fingers crossed then! As far as plugging the tour schedule goes...I'm not that clever of a marketing guy, I'm afraid :)

Maybe something will work out in the meantime!

With tweeter and tilt-back option. Again---one of these days I'm going to get a camera---sorry about the quality!

Yes, but it's also there because there is a lot going on structurally down there. The depth of the cup is 1/8 more than the cab wall thickness, so I didn't want to chop into the ports, et al. Actually, it's not as elegant but just as functional and lighter---do the pole mount (the cup is close to the front of the top cab for this reason) and cut a short length of plastic tubing---voila!

Hi gang,

Well, we all know how awesome these are for bass! I'm pleased to report that - because they are so amazingly flat and clear - I'm now using my big red boxes as studio monitors to mixdown the band's 2012 demo and the clarity is surreal.

Using them in this fashion is really letting these cabinets shine, particularly in frequency notching as I've been able to pinpoint the response ranges for EVERY instrument and voice in the mix with an insane amount of precision and accuracy. First song is 99 percent done, I've got five more to go, and these things sound great!

For the intended use of the Crazy8 or Crazy88 the pole mount is well-suited. That way it can actually be used for small acoustic-oriented groups on tripod stands for mini-PA, or with one above a 12sub on a pole, the other on a tripod stand. For an instrumentalist one can be mounted above another on a short pole - or for just one on the floor you can use a short section of dowel or tuning to achieve tilt-back.

I was going to buy plywood this weekend, but Menards no longer carries Baltic Birch. They have Birch plywood with a western fir core. Comments, concerns? Am I now on a quest?

You can get what you need from Woodcraft.com. Shipping is pretty reasonable.

Let me know when you swing up north again. I'm central New York state and would love to offer up my cabs for you (as well as a chance to see your band, since you guys are seriously kickin').
