I like Fernanda Lira a lot. Great stage performer and is genuinely up there for the music. Has a lot of consideration for fans too. A rare thing in my opinion. Her bass playing is pretty simple? Don't know if you agree with that but she performs vocals and bass very well regardless of complex notes.

I agree, her technique and sound are impeccable for this style of music, but what I love most is her energy and joy in playing, as can be seen in the video I posted at #38.

Wow, haven’t thought about them for ages. Even though they didn’t sound the same, that flashback reminded me of a band I used to see a lot in the early 80’s, Get Smart!, with Lisa Wertman on bass...


They put some records out, but never really made it out of the midwest.

Kristin Konkright is the bassist; I became a fan of the band on trips back there, and then found out that front person Meredith, the youngest member, was the daughter of someone I went to high school with. Ouch.

Just heard about this band , Elephant Gym. The bass player is KT Chang, they're from Taiwan and their music is described as 'math rock'. (Yeah, I'd never heard of that either...)
