Fender Bassman 100T - chapter 2

Just got back from the Rancid show in Toronto. Matt Freeman was running two amps; a 300SB on the OD channel pushing an 8x10, and a 100t on the clean channel pushing a 4x10. He was playing his Squier P-bass as well. Tone was massive. Crisp and clear, yet lots of bite. Not many of us mere mortals get to rock that kind of rig, but sure is nice to hear!
Photo isn't the best, but once they started playing, the 4x10 was miced as well. Also a U5 and a TB1200 in the rack, not sure how many channels he had going to the board. ImageUploadedByTalkBass1371095674.526379.jpg

That's a nice looking rig :D I wish I could've heard that! Even though the Fender TB1200 doesn't seem to get the love it deserves, it really is a killer bass amp.

My 100-T developed the same fault in the bias circuit again last night; I realised mid-set that something wasn't sounding right, looked around the back and saw two red, two orange again. Still passing audio, just distorted. Off for repair again today.

Mine is still in the shop with no news after 18 days.(sb300)
This auto bias is a great idea in concept, and I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Not a fan of auto bias it seems like every manufacturer who uses it has issues at one time or another. Getting harder to find new tube amps without auto bias. I'm sure Fender will eventually get it sorted out though.

I think it's a tribute to the amp that as soon as they come into a store they go out. And kudos to Fender for (presumably) keeping a lid on quality control and not rushing manufacture to keep up with demand. It is the same downunder, there is a waiting list for them to come into the country.

new zealand here as well, interested to try one at some point with my rickenbacker and sunn cab to see how it sounds. I run solely old Holden heads as i can't stand most modern amps, but they tend to explode a lot and the fender sounds kinda tempting..

Which part of NZ are you in? I'd be interested in trying one out too, but I doubt there will be a 100T in my local Rockshop for a very, very long time.
Rickenbacker? Big tick there :)
What sort of Holden head do you have?

I am in Hawkes Bay if either of you kiwis are ever up/down this way. I have both the 100T and Super Bassman 300 should you wish to demo them side by side. To be honest I primarily use the Super Bassman nowadays as it suits my band more, so if you are interested in a mint 100T I might be tempted to pass mine on.

I'm in New Plymouth, but I'm not likely to be out your way any time soon.
From your posts about your Super Bassman I was wondering if you might consider selling your 100T at some point. :)
Right now I couldn't, but in a few months maybe (if you still had it)
