As I await the 100t head's arrival (still many days away given the 60-90 day anticipated wait in early August) , I gaze longingly at my just received coveramp head cover, waiting to fill it!!
All good, anticipation is a good thing.
Seriously though, I am strongly debating purchasing some replacement tubes.....We'll see.

Curious, where did you order the cover from?
Why do you have to wait so long?

When I ordered the head, the local mom & pops store owner got the Fender rep on the phone, while on speaker, and was informed of the 60-90 day wait for next shipment. Crazy? Either way, I did not fold and buy the Peavey Michael Anthony 300 watt red monster with with matching 810..ha,ha
The only reason I did not order the 100t from a site (M.F. etc.) is that I wanted local support should there be problems, like with the bias system as I have been reading.....

Any recommendations for a switch in the tubes to get more clean headroom? Looking for glowing, supportive tone. I like what the stock tubes sound like in my room, but there are times on the gig that I get more breakup than I like. Does this happen to anybody else? I mean, I realize it's only 100 watts, but I feel like the breakup starts to happen when both my master and channel volumes are at 7. I would love it if I could get a little more volume and still have the awesome clean tone.
Have you tried maxing the master and slowly bringing up the channel volume until you start to get breakup?

Winged C's in power section.
I'm going to try some JJ's in the pre section next.
I have not! For some reason this seems backwards to me, but the 100t is the only tube amp I've ever owned, so I don't know much about it.
The breakup you're encountering may be in the preamp. If so, maxing the master, then bringing up the channel volume until you start to get breakup will maximize the amount of clean volume you can achieve. It's worth a try.
edit: I should note that I'm not a tube amp expert ... this advice is based on advice I've been given by others.
Good luck,
Liam
