Fender Rumble Club

I have been playing my new Studio 40 exclusively since it arrived. Today I broke out my 1954 Precision clone strung in Fender 9050M flats and played through my good old Rumble 200 combo. Ahhhh that fabulous Fender tone through a superb Eminence 15" woofer! Such Bliss. :D Rumbles Rule! :D

Oooo! Oooo! A/B Report! A/B Report! How close does the Studio's 10" get to the sound of the 200's 15" (limited, of course, to the Studio's 40 watt sound levels)? I see in the manual that the Studio has a 1x15 Rumble V2 cab setting, but not a 1x15 Rumble V3 setting.

OOoo! OOoo! OOoo! Do you still have either, or both, of your V2 Rumbles? A/B/C Report! A/B/C Report! A/B/C Report! What an opportunity to document the V2-V3-V3a(?) evolution! The next Rumble Talk?

No pressure! Just, like, whenever, you know? If you, kind of, feel like it. Or not. It's Ok, really. In fact, just forget I said anything. Don't mean to just swan in and make work for anyone. I'm sorry for even mentioning it.

That's pretty easy to do, as there are quite a few V2 & V3 Rumble presets. The V2 Rumble 15 would have to be the one in the Rumble 150 combo as there was no V2 Rumble 115 cabinet.
I'm sorry for even mentioning it.
No you're not. ;)

OK, preset #7 is Rumble Vintage (V3) and comes configured with the V3 2x10. Sounds pretty damn good and very authentic. I tried the V2 1x15, and didn't like it as much. Then tried the TV Bassman 1x15, and that is closer to the real V3 Rumble 200 1x15 combo. The original TV Bassman 350 could be had as a 1x15 combo with a special Celestion 4 ohm 15 that was killer. Can't remember if it had a neodymium magnet motor or not. The more you experiment with the various speaker simulations the more you come to appreciate their authenticity. Fender has clearly outdone themselves.

Just for fun I decided to play some guitar last night through my R500H out to headphones.

Long story short it makes a surprisingly good guitar amp. I was pretty shocked at how sharp and sparkly I could make the sound without it sounding ear-piercing, or having that cheap-cardboardy or muddy sound to its low end that I associate with SS guitar amps. My ears knew I wasn't using tubes but it was possibly the best sounding SS guitar amp I've ever heard.

It's an impressive little 5lb tone monster.

Yes! Several years ago I impatiently plugged my newest guitar into the nearest amp at hand and, OMG!, what a glorious sound! Deep, rich lows and very nice mids, along with truly sparkling highs (which the Nanomag pickup was probably responsible for). Turned out to be my little Fender B-DEC bass training amp.

I need to get that guitar plugged into my Rumble 500 combo!

Hmm, I'm wondering if moving the pitch shift before the preamp might accomplish what I'm expecting.
I should have just found another instrument cable today & tried it into another amp.

I had a gig this weekend where I needed a low D so I attempted to use the Rumble pitch shifter to drop my tuning to BEAD and I have to say it was a huge success. The artifacting, to my ears, was only noticable when playing without any accompanying instruments. When playing with a band in rehearsal or on stage, it sounded great.

@Killed_by_Death, is the experience of @basslayer anything like what you're looking for?

I too started playing my SG through my Rumble 200 and Wow what a SAHWEET SOUND!! No kidding Great! :);)

I've tried that also & the pitch shifter works, but I just don't know if it send that effect to the Effects Send.
I'm assuming it does, but have yet to confirm that.

The manual says the send and receive are at the end of the signal chain, so any effect you put on within the Rumble sellings will go to your out board effects.

I read that:

FX SEND/RETURN: Right/left send and return for stereo external effects use. Effects added here are “glob-
al” (not preset-specific) and act as the last elements in the signal path. Use left channel for mono effects.

To me that means effects that you add externally are global, meaning there's no wet & dry.

Too bad they didn't include a block diagram like with the "regular" Rumble.

No, new rules are if you state the answer in the form of a question, you will be disqualified. I am disqualified from life in general.

Actually, Linn, the judges deliberated whether your vast Rumble knowledge should exempt you from participating as a contestant for being overqualified! One of them even tried to PM you to enlist your assistance in devising future questions, but to no avail. (sigh) It is, perhaps, only through hasty posting that today's prize remains to be claimed. Hence the new "one entry per member" request.
