Fender Rumble Club

In case anyone is still interested: today Fender gave me a shiny new Rumble 500, still in box. Pretty dang good customer service in my opinion, although I had to borrow an amp for the couple of weeks it took it to get here.
Had the same experience a couple of months back. Fender has really good customer service, to be sure. :)

Much more low end than the 12"... Much!!!!! BOOM. I have the R100 and really don't care for it after playing the R500 with a 15" Ext Cab.
The R100 vs. the R500 with a 115 cab is quite a difference in equipment and power capability. But the question is... do you find the sound that much different at a moderate volume level (well within the headroom of the R100)?

Yes I do. The 12 loves to burp a lot. Played well within its headroom is little different then playing an Acoustic.... Will probably sell it soon after my 300W RMS 1-15 Studio 15 arrives. I do enjoy the Overdrive as it provides great feedback and sustain, so it may work well for my guitar style and feedback bass.... And also for a drum machine. Just does little for me otherwise. Then again, I once had the 500 combo with the 15 ext. Cab. Worlds apart.

Within the last month I’ve gotten a Rumble 4x10 and a 1x15. I then bought a Fender Bassman to power them, and wow!!!
It is one of my favorite stacks to play!

The new 115 is here! With the 500 head it sounds a lot like the 200 combo which is what I was hoping.

Maybe a stupid question, but here I go anyway....
I thought the 15's 300w continuous rating basically delegated it to be an extension cab (or used in a pair) at the 500w level. Is it just a matter of minding your volume? Or am I misreading the ratings?

I spy with my little eye some hair tie/cloth wraps on the necks of your basses for the Victor Wooten string dampening trick...

Am I correct?

(For those that don’t know, Victor Wooten puts a hair tie at the end of his bass neck that he can use as a sort of capo that changes the amount of dampening of his strings based on the placement of the hair tie on the neck. This helps to clean up the sound of his slapping, finger tapping work, as well as harmonics).

It is fine as long as you use your ears and you don't turn it up super loud.

Yes, you would be correct. They are actually Groove Gear fretwraps. They help out on some basses and hinder on others like my Gibson’s.
Regardless, they are pretty cool.

Plus, the R500 head only puts 350 watts into a single cab. This is only slightly over the 115 cab's 300 watt rating.
You'd need a second cab to get the full 500.
Also, it's 600 W(program),300W(continuous), so ya'd hafta be dimed and playing hard to blow it. They tend to be conservatively rated.

Just when I thought I was done with my Rumble 500 with an SWR Henry....

.... This is why i kinda stopped lurking on the forums in a while....I'm going broke as we speak!

SAHWEEET STACK, DUDE!

New Rumble Rig Day!

I got in a pair of Rumble 112’s from @blmeier7 yesterday. Thanks, Brett.

He’s a great guy to deal with.

I paired these with a recently acquired Rumble 500 Head.

I have a new compact Rumble Rig that adds versatility to my choice of rig depending upon what is needed for a particular situation.

I’m thinking that I am really going to enjoy this rig and the additional options that it affords me.

This is in addition to my 500 Combo with with its Rumble 210 extension cab.

I also acquired an additional set of 2 Rumble 210 cabs to be able to pair them with the 500H if I need a backup or alternate to my Combo rig.

I guess if I ever needed to get really crazy and blow the doors and windows out or scare all the critters if I am outside, I could chain the two 500’s together and have a 1000w 810 Rumble stack.

This stack too! :spam:

Okay...logging off...I didn't think I needed another rig...let alone 2....

I'm not going have any more cash for dates, gas for work, food for myself....I guess it'll be worth it in the end...or my taxes being good for the year...hopefully.:help:

Anybody here pair a 210 and 115 cab? Looking for a photo of how it looks when you have the 210 cab on its side so the box measurements match.
Seen it.

Aesthetically, it works, but the cabs would be butted up to each other without the feet seperating top cab from the bottom, and a misaligned Fender badge. All easy fixes at that point. OIther than the diffences of the controls inputs

Otherwise there's no issues really.

Thanks, and I know the feeling!
I got a Mesa 2x12 coming in the mail today for my Mesa WD800.

Talkbass is more expensive to look at than doing drugs! Lol

I was looking for the same thing. There are some examples here in the Rumble Club if you search the right keywords.

Unless you put them both "right side up," but that may mess with someone's OCD.

They look cool that way, too if you're okay with the shapes being different. It looks good though because the 210 cab is thinner than the 115 and the badges and feet are in the right spots.
