Fender Rumble Club

My new Rumble 500 arrived yesterday. I only had a little while to play around with it. The tone is definitely inherently different that other amps I've been playing.
I have a Q Strip that can shape a tone in any amp buT low and high mids will definitely help in shapping a good sound if I ever use it without any pedals..

It is light which is what I was after. Seems like it will get as loud as I need in most venues. I'm looking forward to when I can try it out in a safe public environment.

What I had envisioned is having an amp that will do the job; portable enough to put in the back seat of my car that I could carry in one hand, gig bag in the other, with a bass over my shoulder for easy small gigs.

I'm hopeful that this Rumble will fit that bill and more.

That's a beaut, jd! My R500c has certainly fit that bill for me. @jdh3000, you are now member #1218 in the Fender Rumble Club. And we are happy to have contributed to your Rumble journey. Please continue to make yourself at home here and on the Rumble Club Wiki page, linked in my signature.

Here's wishing you a Rumbling good experience all the way around! And, as always, please do . . . .

Rumble On!

Thank you for the number! I'm looking forward to discussing my experience with it. I'll be getting an extension cab later on to make it a completely versatile amp.

It will certainly do that. The 500 will cover a mid-sized venue with ease, even without PA support. I find that it’s all I need even when it gets loud - I haven’t had to break out my 210 extension cab yet. The portability is legendary, and for me at least, the tone is perfect.

Brothers in [Rumble]:
Let us drink to the power drink to the sound
Thunder and metal are [Rumbling] the ground
Drink to your brothers who are never to fall
We're all brothers of [Rumble] here in the hall
Our hearts are filled with metal and masters we have none
And we will [Live for Rumbles], [Rumbles] heal, my son

Thanks for the number!

I was doing some late night rumbling/drinking to a few fave metal tracks.

Bought the 100v3 in fall 2018 after recording my 2nd EP. Used all digital plugins for it and wanted to record with a real amp for the next one.
Haven't finished it yet, been busy buying gear for the home studio, guitars, basses, guitar amps. Having too much fun trying everything out I guess.
But the Rumble is the only Bass amp I need, completely satisfied with it.

Had a little birthday cash leftover, so today was...

NAD! Rumble 25!

I wanted something smaller than my 100 that I could leave out in the living room or take out to the garage when the mood strikes. With all the gigs cancelled for the time being, I figured I’d make the best of my time at home! :D

I found out my local guitar shop was making deliveries. I’m so happy to support them (However small) in these crazy times. The amp was on my doorstep about 2 hrs after payment- beat that Amazon! :p

So far I love this little thing! Tone for days! OD is more like “tube warmth,” but sounds great with flats. Contour is excellent, EQ knobs are very responsive. Surprisingly, I don’t really miss the 4 band EQ! :bag: There is the slightest hum in the headphones, but not enough to bother me; not at all noticeable with aux-in going.

It even inspired a new “practice corner!”

New settings? 11, 1, 12? Happy birthday.

Outstanding! Nicely done. And that music book reminds me of "Soulfinger" by the Bar-Kays back in the sixties. Ah, the memories. Anyway, nice haul.
That Duck Dunn book was also a B’day gift, and chock full of 60’s goodness!

New settings? 11, 1, 12? Happy birthday.
You got me pegged! Yup that sounds pretty good! ;)

But it also sounds great flat, and I really like the contour in the headphones. Still getting to know the little guy; not necessarily going to replicate the tone I use on the 100 for rehearsal and gigs. A smooth, round “bedroom tone” is totally on the table! :D

Happy birthday Alan! :)

thanks! :)

Happy birthday, alan! And many, many more.

So, ... like, ... that big ol' heavy 22 lb. Rumble 100 was just too much to move around, so you got you that li'l ol' lightweight 21 lb. Rumble 25 to, ... uh, ... spare your back, huh? Well, ... uh, ... you go for it, then! Hey, maybe you can connect the 100's FX Send to the input of the 25 and blast the place! That is, if it's not too much of a "super fan hack", or something. :roflmao:

But, seriously, congrats on another trip around the sun! I've stopped counting, but they're always worth celebrating! :woot:

Thanks G!

The 100 is a featherweight for sure, It’s more about the footprint in our living room. Plus part of my bday “cash” was a gift certificate to the local guitar store. The wife already got me some books and strings ( :D ) and I was more than happy to give a little business to the local brick-n-mortar.

not that we ever have to justify our “toys” ;)

Speaking of “super fan hacks,” there is that 4x25 rig in the wiki...

Attention: Rumble Club Wiki Edit Alert!

Thanks, @Droopy_TX and @ricardol. A link to your posts above Summarizing the USB Recording Options have been added to the Rumble Club Wiki page at the bottom of the Stage & Studio Links section. These are clear and concise descriptions that will help our many recordists.

And thank you again, @Droopy_TX. A link to your post above describing the GTX-7 Footswitch and comparing it to the MGT-4 has been added to the Rumble Club Wiki page in the middle of the Stage & Studio Links section. This will be a great help to those of us considering the footswitch upgrade!

Dang, DROO! You're sure keeping me busy editing the wiki with all your tests and reviews. Not that I'm complaining, mind you! It's all such good stuff, it needs to be bookmarked this way. Thanks, again. Keep up the good work!

Yes, it does look good, Marcky! And I bet they sound every bit as good as they look. The 100 is only 1.25" wider, 3.25" taller and 3" deeper, and yet is just 1 amazing lb. heavier!!

I just tried them out together in my living room after getting the R100 about 4 months ago. For my stage monitor the R100 is plenty, but if I play a bigger stage I may add the R25 just for fun and see how goes.

I think you'll like the paring, Marc. The R25 can be driven by the line-out of the R100 with appropriate EQ and button settings for each. There's the potential for the way I like to use my R40/R100 combos with stereophonic bi-amp scenario with two feeds from the pedalboard. I send dirt to the top which has a tendency to drop out a little of the bass while allowing the grind to shine. Then chorus and reverb make the 12" sing with depth.

I'm using Eminence "BassLite" neo-drivers and also added some egg crate acoustic foam on three sides of each one. Both drivers are rated at 150W @ 8 ohm. Getting reckless with the volume doesn't even phase these things. I put bigger "feet" on the R100 and moved the take-off grommets up to the 40. I also installed the vintage logos over the amp section - just for the extra headroom! :)
