Fender Rumble Club

Thank you for my number. The Yamaha B100 was from a combo with a 15" speaker. It sounded like butter but the danged thing weighted in at about 90 lbs. This Rumble thread has been very cool. Yes, Rumble On!

sounds like butter? You can’t hear it?

Might be considered sacrilege to the Rumble club but I picked up an almost mint Hartke 4.5 XL410 to pair with my 500c this weekend and all I can say is, WOW!! Lucky my neighbors like me. LOL
It is a bit on the heavy side but sounds phenomenal. View attachment 4323292 View attachment 4323292

Not sacrilege to me, it's still being driven by a Rumble...

I decided to replace my 10-12 y/o Fender Rumble 100 1x15 practice amp with a newer, lighter model. So, with the holiday sale price of 15% off, I picked up the Fender Rumble 100 1x12 and I can't believe the power and sound this little amp cranks out. I'm very impressed with this lightweight Rumble!

Well, it's about time you showed up here, Guy! @405BassGuy, you are now member #1367 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TB Signature for safe keeping. And feel free to browse your Rumble Club Wiki page of all assembled Rumbling wisdom and knowledge. I'd love to see a video of your V1 100 showing off its pulsing red lights! Can you believe it's been 18 years since the V1 Rumbles were introduced?

Please tell us a bit about yourself and your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. You're bound to fit right in here 'cause we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ...

Thanks for adding me to the club, @G-Dog. I actually played with Sunn amps way back in the day so the move to Fender Rumble was a natural transition. In all honesty, the Rumble 100 is my new practice amp and I play an Ampeg PF-500 with 2 2x10 cabs when jamming with a drummer. However, I do have a Fender Rumble 4x10 cab for those times when I really need the extra power.

Very nice!

... .... Which actually brings me to my next question... ... ... so: how does the pre/post switch on the 800 head affect the effects loop? I'm assuming post includes the loop but the manual says the master volume is left out?

This goes back a few weeks but, correct me if I'm mistaken, I don't think it (they) got answered. Let's take a look at the Rumble 800 HD block diagram:

PSX_20210705_190810.jpg

A. The pre/post switch is downstream of the effects loop, so it has no affect on the effects loop. When you think about it, if the switch removed the pre signal then there'd be no FX for the FX Send to send, it would simply be the input signal (bass DI).

A.1. The pre/post switch is immediately upstream of the XLR Line Out, so that is all it affects.

A. 2. Most other Rumbles don't have this switch, so their Line Out is always post EQ.
2. The master is also downstream of the effects loop, so it has no affect on the effects loop. If you connect this FX Send to another amp's FX Return you can only control the second amp's volume if it, also, has a master downsteam of its effects loop! If not, (like most Rumbles) then the second amp will always play at some preset, unadjustable volume!!

2. a. This, and the pre/post switch, was often requested here by Rumblers whose amps didn't have them. And, Fender listened, so there you go!!

2. b. Most other Rumbles don't have this post loop/post line out master, so their Line Out is always post EQ & post master. (I always want my EQ & master in the line out.) Most other Rumbles also have the master before the effects loop, so connecting a second amp by FX Send to FX Return totally controls the second amp from the first! Easy, peasey.
Hope this helps.

You're correct, clefford, you haven't been here in this main Rumble Club thread with a pic of your Rumbles, 'til now. @Bassclef46, you are now member #1368 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TB Signature for safe keeping. I recall that you're familiar with your Rumble Club Wiki page of all assembled Rumbling wisdom and knowledge. And we've already had some modeling discussions in the Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800 club sub-thread. So, you've had a good orientation already!

So, how's about telling us a bit about yourself and your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular, so we can get to know you better? Whatever your situation you'll fit right in 'cause we have all kinds here. But we all have in common our love to ... ...

I used this stuff in my Fender Rumble 500 and it improved the sound massively. Cleaner mids, deeper low end.

Breakthrough in Rumble 40 Sound Problem

So, it seems that GonePlaid and G-Dog were on the right track. Referring back here:
Fender Rumble Club

I finally followed their advice and stuck old socks in the vent holes of my R40, and the sound was significantly improved. So, I guess I'll try batting tomorrow.

Should this batting be a sheet or something? I'll check back in the thread.

Thanks to GonePlaid for the original idea and G-Dog for the tip on trying socks as a preliminary test. And thanks to the other members that gave suggestions as well.

I have a Rumble 500 combo as well as 115 and 210 Rumble extension cabs (all newest versions). The combo has white batting on the back only. The extension cabs both have batting on the back and two sides...none on bottom or top. So if I got this right I would pull the speakers for access then install better speaker batting everywhere. Correct?
