Fender Rumble Club

AUGHHH! Too many wires, cables, and other [stuff] for me.:rollno:

For anyone but a wire nut.

:confused:

That's a wonderful idea, Maart! There's @Jeremy Jones here who has a Studio/Regular 40 stack that he uses for indoor and outdoor gigs!!! The only diffugilty I envision is access to the controls of the bottom amp. If the Regular 40 is on bottom maybe it can be "set and forget"? Or, maybe, just one or two tweaks on its Master? OR, if the Studio is on the bottom, maybe the Tone App and your 7-button footswitch is sufficient to control it!! :thumbsup:
.
Bonne idée, G ! Merci.

I'm used to cabling top to bottom, but it would still be necessary to cable it Studio => Regular if I want to use the amp/cab sims from the Studio.

I just read the @Jeremy Jones post. I forgot about the black vs. silver grill cloth. Gotta think about that.

Or, did you mean, R100 -> DI -> mixer -> PA <- mixer <- mic <- R40
Or maybe perhaps, R100 -> DI -> mixer -> PA <- mixer <- DI <- R40
Or possibly even, R100 -> DI -> mixer -> R40 -> DI -> mixer -> PA
Or ... or ... or ... R100 -> DI -> mixer -> R40 -> DI -> mixer -> PA

I was posting this information in a different thread and I thought it might help to see it here also. I realize it is also mentioned in the Rumble Wiki stuff, but here it is again in all its simplicity:

Yeah, Greg, those are good reminders. Thanks. I've posted them in this thread before, too. But I can never find those posts when I want to. :confused: I can't even find those posts directly linked on the wiki page! :eek:

But I know I can always find them in the Rumble 40/100/200/500 manual! And I can always find a link to that manual on the Rumble Club Wiki. :)

It's not just what you know, but can you find what you want to know when you want to know it! :smug:

Nope. I said what I said! (Running the R100 through the board and the PA, then micing that and running it to the R40, which ultimately makes no sense unless you're micing from a sub that only has the R100 output).

But you'd have to be nuts about running wires (cables) to do it. Or a control freak at the mixer.

I heard there's a Fender Rumble club. :) Here's my new Fender Rumble 500. All the amp I'll ever need. I already had the ampeg, but I don't think I need its power. But it's nice to have if I ever end up on a big stage outdoors.

If the Ampeg has an effects loop, try plugging the FX Send from the Rumble into the FX Return of the Ampeg. Then see if you can blow any windows out of your house! :bassist: And welcome to the club! You'll be assigned a member number shortly.

That's right, there IS! :D And, @Jogobass, you are now member #1534 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Please put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

How's about telling us a bit about yourself, Jog, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular? Whatever your situation you're bound to fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

Well, long story short, I'm 44, started bass at age 12 or so. Played in several bands, studied Jazz around 20 years old. Then took a long break from playing (long story) until last year when I bought a new Ibanez GWB205 and now I'm back to studying bass again. Got setup for recording on my PC and last monday my new Fender Rumble arrived, so my equipment is ready for any musical situation that might arise. My old bass had bad memories attached to it and the Ibanez was just the best upgrade I could get. And my amp is around 30 years old so I couldn't trust it anymore, plus the Rumble is much lighter for the same amount of power. First time I have a cab with tweeter and I don't know how I could have done without one for all those years.

I've played almost anything from pop, rock and metal to jazz, but my main interest at the moment is jazz fusion.

Welcome back to playing bass, and with a RUMBLE, no less. My particular taste is fulfilled better if I turn off the vintage button while using my Ibanez basses, BUT when I use my old Fender Precision the vintage button has to be pressed down! So sweet!
