Living it this morning. I had to scrape the ice off my windows on my truck this morning. I had to use an ID card, as I have no scraper.

Something I only do about three or four times a year.

Go by ear! If sounds good, it's good.
I sometimes use a cheap-a$$ chineese compressor in front, sometimes my multieffect (for comp or comp+OD).
IMHO I could only sense some compression when the combo master volume was high (past like 1-2 and I like the sound)
If You ask me I'd say it's mainly there to protect the speakers/prevent power amp distorsion/cutout(which could happen with pushed class D circuits).

So I am going to be trading a DarkGlass Hyper Luminal compressor pedal for a Rumble 112 v3. Do you Rumblers think that is a good trade? They want $270 for it, I offered up the DG HL for a 1:1 trade and they accepted. I will be picking it up tomorrow evening.

I will only be using it at home under my 500c, since all my gigs are IEM.

My guess is you'll love it. I loved mine but it sat for over a year(no place we play warranted taking it), so I sold it at no loss to someone who wanted a second one.

Well, they both seem to have similar prices new, so that part looks fair. But I know I'd sure enjoy the R112 cab more'n a compressor! And it's a great fit for a R500c. :thumbsup:

That looks like a great compressor. It even gives you control over ratio like in a studio. Also it has blend which is the most important control for me. I have three compressors, one for bass (always on) and two on my guitar pedalboard (one always on and one for endless sustaining leads). They need to be transparent. Although no one could ever tell I have it on my bass, I can sure feel it when I play.

The rare/elusive Rumble 112 is something I'd sure like to find locally. Not only is it a perfect fit for the 500, it is also a perfect match for the 200 like I have, which would give me the full 200 watts. If it came available here, I'd sure want to be the one who ended up with it.

I've never understood why they discontinued the 112. And I really will never get why Fender didn't make a 115 to match the size of the 200 and 500.

I wouldn't let a 112 get by me if ever found one, that's all I'm really saying.

My 200c>112 was a terrific combination: the full 200W plus coupling the 15 and the 12. But it takes me 2 trips on load-in/out as it is, with the 112 it became 3/3 and it was overkill for all but one place we play(ed)[we don't play there anymore]. As I've stated b4, had I known the daisy chaining trick, I'd have gone with 2 R100s.
But my initial idea was a 200h + 2xR112. The finances(or lack thereof)plus the rather heavy weight of the 112, plus more [stuff] to schlep-at my age-dictated my choice of the 200c in 11/2015.

Yeah, the HL is a great compressor, but I have a Becos Stella that kicked it off my board so the HL is just sitting in a drawer. I saw the 112 come up on Craigslist, so I contacted the person selling it and they agreed to a 1:1 trade. I am picking it up at 7:30 PM tonight.

I did notice that the prices were on par, so it seems like a good deal. I have a Becos Stella compressor that beat out the HL, however the HL is a fantastic piece of gear.

Whenever you trade a thing you don’t want for one that you do, it’s a good trade.
