Fender Rumble Club

I had a fender bassman 15 watt in 2004 then up until last November I had a 60 watt older beat up bass man. Was probably like an early 00's my cousin gave to me. Was pretty warn out by the time I got it handed down to the point that me of the tone controls didn't work and the speaker sounded like crap. Anyway after all that it was time for a new amp so I started looking around for something around a range of $400. I ended up buying an Orange 50 watt for around $280 and it wasn't long before I noticed that I wasn't happy with it. Didn't have the tone I was lookin for and it lacked bass. I ended up trading the orange for a Hartke a70 limited edition. GREAT AMP until the 2nd time I used it at band rehearsal the mother bord fried and that was that. So now I need an amp again and I'm at guitar center when I see the new 3rd generation rumbles. I plugged into the fender rumble 100, and I LOVED it from the get go. Basically I bought it and it's been my small practice amp and house amp.

That is where I'd like to be one day. But I would settle for the Bassman 500 foe now. (Budget being the factor right now)

Bassman 500 is a good head. For a short time, there were a few that had a problem. Fender fixed the issue. That's how I went to the Super Bassman.

Good to know. I went to the Irvine store a few times but have not been to the Tustin one. So a 2-fer! Shop at Jim's Music, then 1 mile up the road to Tustin Brewing Company!

I'll name-drop Ubernator for the insider bro deal!

Well for one, they would have no idea who "ubernator" was and 2, I don't get better deals there than anyone else asking them to beat GC price. They will usually knock off at least an eat the tax deal or better.

When I decided to pull the trigger on the 200, stocks were low and I had pending auditions. Jim's was out of stock, and Tommy quoted me $50 off, and told me to drop that at GC for a price match because they had 2 in stock. Turned out the 15% deal was an additional $10 less.

However if I had told Tom GC had the deal at %15 off, and he had one in stock or I was willing to wait, then he might have beat that price by a bit.

I will PM

Anyone remember the bassman 60 combo? From late 80s I assume because it was 90-91 when I remember guys at school using that amp. Solid state with 15". Saw one for sale recently but remembered thinking the guy wanted too much for it.
When Bill Schultz and his group of investors bought Fender from C.B.S. and formed F.M.I.C. in 1985, it was a tumultuous time to be sure. They bought Sunn o)) in order to get an amp factory and product line. Almost the same thing with SWR. Refer to chapter 27 "Fender Bass Amplification" of Tom Wheeler's 'The Soul of Tone - Celebrating 60 Years of Fender Amps'.
