Fender Rumble Club

@DerekW Lololololoolololol

I started to say I have 24 frets so I can get in your business. But I thought it would be better to just maim him in the parking lot later.

I like your style, it's quite similar to mine.

But that was going to be my next suggestion, as soon as he starts mowing your lawn, play 15th fret and up only, and play the melody, not the bass line.

When everyone stops and says, "***?!?", just say "oh Mr. Penis, I mean Pianist, was playing my parts, so I started playing his... isn't it trading places day?"

How about accordionists?
Guitar and I have suggested splitting our repetoire into Accordian only and Band sections... I'll move forward and join the singers for that part, and we'll move back and rock it up a little in the other part.

We are quiet and all volunteers, but seriously he is deafening at times. At least this way I can move out of the firing line.

One night I was eating dinner in a Mexican restaurant with a buddy and the band set up and started playing right after we got seated. It thought, cool, live music. The the accordion player stood right next to us and they started playing. They were OK but the accordion player was still RIGHT next to us.
So my buddy leans over and asks "Do you know what the difference between an accordion and a trampoline is?"
I smiled - with the accordion player standing right next to me - and said no.
He replied "People take off their shoes before they jump up and down on a trampoline".
I laughed so hard my eyes were watering. I couldn't look at him again the whole meal without breaking out in laughter!

I've listened to a lot of Tejano bands and the accordion is either playing rhythm back-up or harmony or they're playing a solo. They fit very nicely.

One remedy for a bassy keyboard is simply get them to roll off their lows and have a thinner sound. So, if they play low, at least it isn't boomy or punchy. Some don't like their sound that way, but I have also worked with some who understand the problem.

When he refused to make any adjustments I finally had to demand that the lows be removed. I literally had to go through the pastor to get it done. However---during the service the pianist boosted his volume and with his cheesy stereo patch and managed to recreate that horrible boominess and the soundman was clueless.

This joker is doing it on purpose either because he thinks it sounds good or he has a problem with me. The pastor is in shock that I now refuse to play with him. I have been the backbone of the worship team for 3 years straight. This guy has been around about 3 months and they quit using the other 2 good keyboardists.

He didn't play 2 weekends ago--and the sound was perfect. I pointed that out to the pastor. The idiot brings his own Korg workstation and won't use the church's piano--he has this awful stereo disco sounding garbage. Makes me want to go to another church.

What is really going on is the guy is in rehab and they are using the worship team as part of his therapy. But in the meantime they are running congregation off with this stupid idea.

I am searching my memory--but I was the prosecutor for this county for many years and there are a lot of convicts here that don't like me. We either crossed paths or I prosecuted one of companions.

Hey all.
Just played a mini fest with a bunch of friends bands. Most of the bass players chose my 500 combo over the other amps available, and all commented favourably on the tone.
Unfortunately this means that they all tweaked the settings to their own personal flavour, which is cool but I can't seem to get back to quite where I was. I know I nicked the settings from a spreadsheet that Linnan (?), had kindly posted but now I can't even find that. Can someone steer me in the right direction, please? Signed Lost in Brisneyland

The bass is just like the sax....beautiful simplicity one note at a time.
#513 THE Rumble Club
#001 Rumble Wall of Doom Club
#001 TB Fight Club
#001 Bad Pianists Bonfire Club

Hey, @Steadfast! You seem to be the #001 (and, perhaps, only?) member of some very interesting looking clubs there. At least my searches couldn't find a couple of them.

The "Rumble Wall of Doom Club" sounds ultra cool. Where is it located? Must a wall be all Rumble to qualify, or would a Bassman (or 2, or more) along with the Rumble(s) be OK?

The "Bad Pianists Bonfire Club" might be of some macabre interest, going by your recent posts. Where is it located? Is it only pianists, or other keyboards, too?

And the one I did find, the TalkBass Fight Club, I couldn't find any posts from you or even any member numbers given out there. What's the deal there?

Inquiring minds ... , ya know.

I forget who started the Tone Pool and saved it from being savaged a time or two. Anyone can contribute a tone setting of their own. There are only four contributors currently represented. So don't hesitate to add some of your own.

Credit where due: After @Linnin coined the term "Tone Pool" for sharing amp settings, @Scott Truesdell came up with the working link.

I think the hot ticket would be a publicly-accessible Google Docs spreadsheet.

Can you see this?
Can you edit it?
