Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

Well, got my Stage 800 replacement amp a few days ago and I am happy to report that the issue of the sound fading out and back every minutes or so (with or without BT ON) has not happened after extensive use over the last days. So it is safe to say something indeed was wrong with the the first amp.

I did not get an answer as to what happened with the first model I had, but in case some one reads this thread and has the same issue, there are a few points to highlight:

- The faulty unit "seems" to have become faulty after I tried to connect BT over my Windows desktop, the screen froze once and it seems the sound issue became apparent, if not more frequent after this event happened. Yet I didn't use the amp enough prior to that to conclude this is what "broke" the amp.

I do not intend to replicate this with the new amp as I can work around this by using an aux (or usb?) cable. The manual only talks about iOS and Android, so I will assume that it is not recommended to use BT with a laptop or desktop, knowing it could "curse" my amp forever.

- Connecting with my Android phone's BT works as expected now with the new amp, no drops noticed unless I walk away with my phone, as normal. Same with the Tone app, I am not experiencing interference between having audio streaming and using the tone app at the same time that others reported. I am also able to switch between iPad and android without having to unpair.

- At first, I thought the new amp had a louder fan than the previous model...all night I kept hearing the slight but noticeable sound of the cooling fan, and then it struck me this morning...I think the reason why I kept obsessing about it is that because the previous model's was so silent that it was probably not running. I forgot to check the state of the fan on the first amp, but I am pretty sure this could be the reason why the amp was going into preventive mode, or at least presented the symptoms of it , as described in the manual.

All and all, this concludes the story as all signs point to a failure that was either already present or was induced by faulty BT connections that "locked" the brain in preventive mode.

Ready to Rumble away!

PS: The first amp is now back on sale in the store as "Open Box"...gasp.

Grrr...:rage::rage::rage:

Yea, that's enraging. I work for a Pro Audio manufacturer and I cannot think of a Service dept. that would allow this type of policy. I know my company incentives the dealers to get the unit/part replaced at no charge so this shouldn't happen. Kinda sad to know that this amp might generate most costs in carbon footprint than the profit margin to make out of it and more customers get a bad experience.

Attention: Rumble Club Wiki Edit Alert!

"Fender Announces the New Fender TONE 3.0 App Firmware Update" has been linked on the Rumble Club Wiki page in the Fender TONE APP SUPPORT section. It's a native part of the new Mustang GTX amp series announced at Winter NAMM 2020, but it will be downloadable for the Mustang GT series and the Rumble Stage & Studio, currently expected around the end of March.

The announcement also mentions a Max/PC version of TONE 3.0 App for the Mustang LT25 & LT50, which I would certainly hope also applies to the Rumble LT25! But, we'll have to see about that!

Here's hoping it's an exciting upgrade for our Rumble Stage & Studio owners!

Yeah, it got a little cold out here in The Patch last night, just sitting and waiting for the Great Rumble Pumpkin to rise. Brrrrr, . . . . ;)

I actually had to search for it, Dook! And it wasn't just a simple Google search, either. Fender's being pretty tight lipped about it, so far. I trust you saw my TONE 3.0 post back in January, with Tom Bowlus' confirmation that it would apply to the Rumbles? It's linked in bold on the wiki. Well, I've been searching for more info ever since then, but just now found the patience to read thru this particular webpage and post the link on the wiki. :rollno:

I had found a bit of discussion, and the first, postponed, February 25th arrival date on the Invalid Link Removed, in the Mustang GT forum's Invalid Link Removed. And that's where I found this month's arrival date. Unfortunately, Invalid Link Removed. Apparently not enough activity to justify continuing. :crying:

Another victim of the CoVID-19 Quarantine...

Hmmm, no, I don't think so. I've been a member there for many years, but never saw the kind of activity that TB has. The surprise, to me at least, is that it went on as long as it did!

More surprising, to me, is the closing of the Fender Discussion Page forums this past January. It seemed to have much more activity than the Fender Forums but, again, not as much as TB.

Bottom line: Let us not take these wonderful TalkBass forums for granted! Become a supporting member while you still can. Nothing worthwhile is ever truly free.

+1

As soon as I get the opportunity I'm gonna re-up as well. Let it slip from Valentine's Day, but I agree that supporting these folks monetarily is what will keep it going.

Gtfoh! I got 3 more hours to get home from work and try.

IKR? And I'm too physically exhausted to do it tonight. Gonna start fresh tomorrow morning and maybe play all day! Uh, ... that is, unless I can't sleep tonight. :woot:
.
You won't be able to. I updated my tone App. My custom patches aren't showing up. Hopefully they will re-sync when I get home. I'm not positive I've done a cloud backup

Thanks for the update G. I just checked this morning... But I check every day anyway.

Thanks for the update, ole town crier. It was a long today with lot all going on and no relief on sight. I may just pop down tonight and the update. And yes, it’s always smart to back up what you have. Good luck, fellas. Enjoy!

Just from the update notes, we Rumble owners got the same pedal updates that the GT owners received. Did we not get any new amp or cabinets?

Update went flawlessly and old presets were preserved.

No new amps or cabs.

Effects are a warm welcome - I am a fuzz-aholic and the Ram and Russian are really really good. The Tube OD is the hidden gem here and will toy with it tonight.

Unfortunately I am still experiencing blutooth dropout between my phone and the amp (disconnects after 2 minutes) but will be testing with an android tablet tonight.

The new Toneapp looks sleek - Nice overhaul, not really needed if you ask me but nice.
