Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

Not exactly sure of the type of tone you're looking for, but I'm currently playing with the Motown preset, adding a bit of chorus and reverb. I think this will work for some of our songs ('60s Stones, etc.). Seems good for now (until I find something I like better).
For a basse tone I just like something sort of vintage modern. Lots of mids and vintage character but with a more modern well controlled bass response. With creamy low-mids.

I haven't found a preset that gives me that through the speaker but maybe there's one that'll pull that off on a recording.

Maybe this can give you a good starting point:
AMP MODEL: RUMBLE V2
GAIN: 1.0; VOLUME: 10.0; TREBLE: 5.5; MIDDLE: 6.4; BASS: 5.5; BLEND: 1.0
Cabinet: 4x10 Pro
Mid Freq: 205 Hz; Punch: ON; Scoop: OFF; Compressor: LOW1; Noise Gate: LOW; Gate Position: PRE

Saw this in the main Rumble forum:

"I piggyback my rumble 40s di out to my rumble 200s effects return and the combination is pretty incredible in tone and volume."

Wondering if there is any advantage to piggybacking my Studio 40 with my Stage 800. Adds another 10" speaker ...

But that extra 10" speaker is still only up to 40 watts continuous, while each of the 10" in the Stage is up to 200 watts continuous. Seems to me like it would be a very insignificant addition at gig volumes. Plus, the Stage can already dial in any tones the Studio can get.

Perhaps there is some more presence at low practice volumes if you chain the Studio's FX Send to the Stage's FX Return, though. For some reason I don't understand, this chaining method doesn't allow the enslaved amp to amplify the master very much. So, in this case, the SPL of the Studio could possibly approximate that of the Stage for a more balanced presentation.

I occasionally chain my Studio FX Send to my Rumble 500 combo input to more significantly reinforce the tones the R500c can't get on its own. Not to add cone area, or SPL to the overall sound.

Also from the main Rumble Club thread:

Not defective, just the speakers not holding up. I personally think they over rated for what they really are, as in they are rated for more watts than they can really handle. I've had the first cab since 2015 or 16. And the 2nd since 2018 or 19. And I play the Rumble 500 head through them.

I think its the use of heavy Fuzz ( for 1 song) and Dirty Boost that has been pushing the speakers too far. Plus we use to play a lot of places with no PA support outside of vocals and maybe kick. So I don't think the speakers can take that much.

The old cab my buddy borrowed had the first replacement speaker in it From Fender, the one pulled out of a dead combo. But I knew the speakers were getting ready to go, they seemed to have rub happening. And the 2nd cab is starting to sound like that now. My buddy uses a TON of Treble with his Jazz and a finger player. I mainly use flats on my P with 90% fingers with a lot of heavy lows. The 1st cab just sounds like distorted flub at low volume now, 2nd only when turn up to gigging volume.

There is probably a 100 or so gigs on the 1st cab. I used 1 cab and the 500 head for long bit, but then split duty with my GK MB212ii combo for the rest of the time AND added the 2nd cab to help make everything sound bigger and less push on each cab (sounds amazing). All gigs this year have been my Bassman 500 and Bassman Pro410 cab. (Played our 1st gig this year last month and only a few since)

I was going to do the speaker swap to try them out some time ago, but then world imploded and I kinda just left my gear alone outside of fussing with pedals via headphones at home and practicing the same way. It ws only now that we released our first album and got back to playing out a bit, that I even remembered the speaker swap. I didn't even see my band mates for a year and half. The bass and drums were done pre pandemic and they rest was done mostly remotely during. I was suppose to re-record a couple tracks, but that never happened. Ended up with my live track with the drums. We did the drums and bass live in a single afternoon. So a lot of what I was doing was the less is more for that with the intention to redo some. Oh well.

Calling all Rumble 210 users, that is 210 cabs, Rumble 500 combo and Rumble Stage 800 combo users! Please let us know of any problems with these 10" speakers not holding up.

I've not read of this problem before, certainly not to this extent. If there is a systemic problem with the 500 running them, seems it would be even worse with the 800 (either Stage or HD). Please advise!

I’ve never run into any problem with the drivers of any sort.

Here is something that came to my mind today. I got LT25 as a home practice amp. I wanted modeling amp to play a little with different amps and effects. Loving some of the presets and I wish I could use them with the band.
Obviously 25 watts won’t do it so is there any way I can hook it up to the 500 v3 combo?
Because LT25 doesn’t have DI here is what I was thinking. Not sure it will work and I rather ask someone here first before I blow something up.
So here is the chain:
1. Bass —> LT25 input—>LT25 headphone jack —> 500 v3 combo AUX

2. Bass —> LT25 input—>LT25 headphone jack —> 500 v3 combo Effects Return

3. Bass —> LT25 input—>LT25 headphone jack —> 500 v3 combo Instrument Input

4. Bass —> LT25 input—>LT25 USB —> ??? —> 500 v3 combo ????

Disclaimer: I am NOT an expert on the Rumble LT25, nor on the Studio or Stage, nor for that matter the non-modeling Rumbles! But, I have a 500 combo and a Studio that I feel comfortable using and playing with. Now ...

A. While this isn't technically a modeling question, tommy, I'm commenting on your post in the main Rumble Club thread here in the LT25... Club sub-thread because the discussion might help other LT25 owners who might be reading here, or one of them might have the answer!

That, and most non-modeling Rumblers in the main Club thread, and even a lot of Studio & Stage modeling Rumblers here, don't realize what limited connectivity, but advanced features, the LT25 has!

2. It ain't mentioned in the manual, but the 7ender website says the LT25 headphone output is STEREO! Because of that I would assume that the USB for recording is also STEREO. I know that on the Studio & Stage both the headphone and USB outputs are in STEREO. That would make a difference in the connectors that you should use, and probably blending them together, in order to get the full output to go into your mono-only 500 combo. Sorry, I don't currently have any good ideas for this. Maybe some of the recording enthusiasts here can help?

III. Seems like I had another comment, but I had to get up and go to another room while typing the previous paragraphs and my "old timers" made me lose that thought. (sigh)

Edited to add: uh, ... D. Oh, yeah, now I remember! Be sure to check the signal strength and/or impedance level (or whatever electronic stuff applies) before connecting too much stuff together! Don't ask me specifically what, or how, to check. It just seems like something that could be problematical.

Good luck, tom t 'rific.

When I was getting my LT25 I wasn’t thinking about connecting it to anything. Now when I played a little with it and enjoy different presets and possibilities of this little amp I wish I could use it with the band. If I knew I am gonna have so much fun with it I would get Studio. Well, lesson learned.

Thanks for saving my amps from connecting my LT25 to 500 combo effects return.

Good point on signal strength.

I will try to ask Fender and see if I can get any answer from them.

And here is the answer from Fender regarding connecting LT25 into 500 v3:

“Greetings Tom,

Thanks for reaching out. Although this can be done, it will likely create some unnecessary wear and tear on your Rumble. A mic hooked into a PA system in front of the LT25 is probably the safest option, and it will preserve the purity of the sound without coloring it in a negative way.

Not much but at least they answered in no time and I can appreciate that
