Did a few tests last night with the info LeMaartien pointed me towards on making the Rumble V3 amp "flat". Would need a scope to see if 10-2-2-10 is truly flat, but it sounds so to my ears! Does this mean the modeling is that accurate? Cool
.
First step was to copy the preset, then I settled on 4.0-6.5-6.5-4.0 (the virtual knob and actual knob couldn't agree on the time, lol). Flipping back and forth between the presets it was the bass that was noticeably tighter/punchier at 4.0. YMMV but I liked that direction. Soooooooo much to learn!
The real reason for the post is to ask about Cab simulation. I don't get it. It's probably my lack of understanding but what would be the reasoning behind it? A 10" is always going to sound like a 10" right? Putting any emulation in the signal chain is just going to color the tone a bit but it's always the same speaker. Please don't jump all over me, I'm just writing it out plainly in condensed format so it's readable, but I am interested to get this and am looking for the wisdom
I added and took out different cabs but always prefer the tone with it off. Probably just me!
