Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

Aha! I don't recall if I saw it on the Fender website, or where, but "Airplane Mode" rings a bell!!

Actually G-Dog, I remembered you posted something about it and also about a friend who accidentally Bluetooth connected to your amp during a gig break in the regular Rumble thread back in July.

I’m not sure if having the phone in airplane mode will help or not. I’ll have to try to check it out when I get enough time to connect to the Tone app again for awhile.

You're right, B. Besides Airplane Mode on the phone when using Bluetooth with the Rumble, there's also "Bluetooth Off" on the Rumble when not using it! Both are needed for total security. Somewhere along the line, my lack of problems, either because of those practices or in spite of them, lulled me into a lack of security the last couple of months. I'm happy to have you and others here to remind me of the possible ongoing need for these practices.

If these practices don't help, then it may be time to call your friendly neighborhood Fender Authorized Service Center and explain what's happening, before your 2 year warranty runs out. This coming January marks the 2 year anniversary of their introduction, so all of them bought new should still be covered.

How are you folks setting your Envelope Filter effect on these modeling Rumbles? I'm having trouble getting the desired effect.
I'm using an American Deluxe Jazz V and an EBMM Sterling HS. I seem to be able to get a decent sound but it cuts volume considerably. If I dial back the level my volume comes back but I lose desired effect.

I have now joined the ranks of the Modelling Rumble community. As the proud owner of a brand new Studio 40, I look forward to delving into this strange and wonderful world. :bassist::hyper:

It’s a fun world too, Jakob. For most of us who won’t be headlining Madison Square Garden soon, it gives us the chance to cop some great tones and keep those of us, who get bored easily, entertained.

Just remind yourself that every time you turn it in you’re flipping on a computer and there are bound to be occasional gremlins along the way. Though the tech is high, it’s not isolated from freezes, crashes, and the WTFs!

With that, enjoy the heck out of it.

Thanks for the heads-up, @iagtrplyr! I’m actually very comfortable with things digital in general, in many cases more so than analogue, so I’m not too worried. :)

Thanks, since it just started doing this it seems like something that will likely get worse over time. I didn't know if I needed to get some kind of authorization from Fender before taking to the repair shop...guess they will check it out and let me know that it is a covered repair....

(Update) Finally took the Rumble LT25 in a week ago and they just let me know that Fender is sending a replacement....I didn't find out the exact problem with the old amp (if they even know) but I'm happy to get a new one...

Very good, tessy. Glad you're getting it resolved. Let us know how the new one works out, and how your bass learning is going!

Meanwhile, I hope your Mustang LT25 is still doing well. That looks like a very fun little guitar amp. I still occassionally enjoy my old Cyber-Deluxe for multiple effects. :smug:

I've been playing the heck out of my Stage 800 with my StingRay 4 Special at home and with some fellow musicians. I just dig the KGB-800, Redhead, TV Bassman and '59 Bassman 2x15.

I still don't know how to really use the damn thing. But I knew that going in if I didn't take a simplistic approach I'd forever be caught in the weeds. So my plan was to find a few things I like and just go for it. If I need other things, I'll pick it up as needed. It's worked well for me so far.

A very reasonable approach, Cy. Enjoy!

When you're ready to dig deeper, allow me to recommend the links that make up The Droopy_TX Rumble Preset Experience in the Fender TONE APP Support section of the Rumble Club Wiki page linked in my signature. His .PDF and .XLSX files there can teach users a great deal about the stock presets very quickly, and facilitate documenting your own presets to guard against electronic loss.

Aside from that, please feel free to ask here anything about your Rumble Stage that you don't readily find. Lotsa helpful & knowledgeable users here. ;)

Thanks, The little Mustang is good fun to play here in my house and can get quite loud. As is common (I think) I have to adjust it between my tele and strat, the tele pickups are a bit more noisy than the strat on some patches but the amp is fairly easy to adjust. (Like the Rumble LT). I do play my 6 string treble guitars through both little amps with good sounds (for me anyway). My bass learning curve is going okay but I mostly put some backing tracks on and play along or try some simple leads, I play well enough by ear that I can do basic scales up and down the fret board...fun for me...and thanks to this forum I do have a little AAS, still looking at the larger Rumbles (I don't need at all) but the 100 looks nice....hmmm, no...Cheers all and Happy Rumble Days....:bassist:

Thanks, wc. I've not really looked at the new Mustang amps. Is the LT25's interface very much like the Rumble LT25's? Since sharing the Tone App, I guess I'd expect the amp interfaces of the Studio & Stage to be practically identical to the bigger Mustangs. Do you know if that's the case?

The Mustang LT25 and Rumble LT25 interfaces seem to be exactly the same other than the included guitar vs bass amp models, stomps and mods. Not owning one of the larger Mustangs but looking at them online, they are not as detailed and adjustable as the larger Mustang's, smaller screen and only 30 visible patches with 20 more available for exchanging with one, or more of the first thirty.

Having a weird thing with my Stage 800. I'm using it with a Rumble 210 cabinet underneath and running the switch on the back of the 800 at 8 ohms to match the cabinet. Up until the most recent practice I've had chest thumping, house rumbling volume available. Last evening I had my volume struggle with a moderately loud drummer, acoustic guitar and 2 electric guitars. We were much quieter than we have rehearsed in several weeks but my volume just wasn't there. I was at noon on my volume knob and that would typically be way too loud even with our keyboard player there (he was sick last night, thus the diminished band volume). Not sure what was going on. My tone was fine, not farty or crackling. I didn't change anything on my preset. I tried running without the extension cab and with and there was more volume with, so that rules out a bad speaker cord or blown ext. cab. in my mind.
I will put new batteries in my bass tonight and see how it goes but I'm not confident that it's a battery issue. They are pretty new.
Any suggestions?

Here's a pic of the control section.

I don’t know since you said no change to the patch. Sounds like you had the problem right out of the gate at your practice and not something that went out while playing a song.

Do you use a speakon type cable between combo & ext cab?

I would start with just the 800 combo by itself and see if it sounds as like it should on it’s own.

I’ve definitely seen some weak and short lasting batteries come out of packs lately from both Duracell and Eveready.

Something’s amiss. I’ll be interested to know what you find out.

I’ve always thought the idea of a Stage 800 head was far fetched. I mean, one would think the tones of the different models & sims are tailored to sound the way they do with the accompanying speakers & cab design. Can you imagine how different those models would sound with all the variations of speaker cabs out there.

I am excited to see what else Fender can come up with. I think they are absolutely kicking major butt right now with all of their new guitar designs, custom amp colors and gear. I think it’s pretty cool and I don’t see any other company doing so much.
