Fender signature that MUST be made!!! NOW!!!

Hi jimmy DeeDee handed this bass into the audience at a show in London November 19th 1981 and i still have it today as i was lucky enough to be the one who got it, the last time this was seen was in a you tube video dated 17 November 1981 in Madrid, 2 days later it was mine, this bass was his choice instrument through out 1980/81 as seen in many you tube vids of that time , thanks Terry

Where're you selling it? While it's going to be out of my price range at the moment, I would be very interested to see how it goes.

I think they should make a Ray Manzarek sig bass... or maybe a Stevie Wonder sig... either way it would be black and white, and you wouldn't even need a right hand to play it!

I think Stevie Wonder plays it with right hand, his left hand on the pitchbend/mod wheel

I'd like to see a Sting Signature with the right specs!

* Alder body without the extra routing.
* Original size neck without the inlay.
* Bigger, vintage size string ferrules.
* Nitro finish, heavy relic.

Basically a CS bass. Yes, more expensive than the existing CIJ, but I'd buy one tomorrow...

Wow!.. I heard that actually Fender made one of that for Sting, but he doesn't like it and still only wants to play the real one.

How about a 59 / 60 Stack Knob Jazz Bass in 3-tsb. I will sign it !

Hi Ryan it is being sold at Christies in london 14/06/2011 which is tomorrow, If you go to there website and go to there Ecatolouge it is on page 23 with the storey of event from that night, I was in a band at the time i got the guitar and have some pics of us in rehearsel with it , the funny thing was i had just bought my first bass guitar 2 weeks previous to that nght, a ibanez roadster,
The night i got Deedee,s bass when i got it home and plugged it into my amp the pickguard had broken across the jack plug hole and was very loose and it would cutout then come back in,
Maybe he got annoyed with that happening and just and handed it to the crowd, In the old pics from 1981 you will see that DeeDee had put silicon all round the outside of the pickguard and all round the pick ups, this also shows up on there youtube videos from 1981 ,Best example is Ramones in Madrid 17th November 1981, Also sound checking at there italian openair gig 1981 in Rome, Ryan i hope this answers your question , thanks Terry

After owning this guitar for 29 years + i have had to put it up for auction for financial reasons, this breaks my heart as i have been a lifelong Ramones fan, 1st seeing them in London at the Roundhouse in 1976 and seeing there last gig at the Brixton Accademy in London 1996 and seeing them on god knows how many occations in between the auction happens to be tomorrow in London, i will post up a few photos very soon , Terry

Everything is irrelevant when it comes to Fender Signature models, except how many they can sell.
They take risks sometimes though, with Roscoe Beck or Steve Bailey for example. These weren't obvious.

Yeah you right.. I read that originally Fender try to made it (maybe what's became AV 62 stack knob Jazx now) but JO didn't satisfy with the result and go with Lakland.
But what I mean is ding by ding 'relic-ed' JO Fender Jazz Bass.. How about that?

Agreed. I'd love a P Bass like the Pino version but I'm not gonna shell out that kind of dosh for a nameplate or whatever they do to the headstock. Jeez...I want a complete Fender decal for that kind of $$$.

Already have the funk machine, the '62 P reissue. Already had a Tommy Shannon Sig in the late '90s if I remember correctly.

As for the Dee Dee/Sid/Punk bass, I fear it would be a reliced, roadworn series. UgH!

Bruce Foxton sig bass would be cool. 70's reissue, black with maple neck. B/w/b pickguard with extra chrome / mirror guard as a supplied accessory. (Bruce used both p'guards- as well as a pearloid guard). Fo me the B/B/Maple combo is classic Bruce - oh and with 70's TV Logo / decal. Probably will never happen as people associate him equally with a Rick and also but to a lesser extent, an Aria. He always goes back to the P though...

That's a sig I would love to have.
