Thanks to you people I now own a 60's firemist gold Jazz. Fender also got me with their late 50s Squier black Friday this year, so maybe I need to stop hanging around TalkBass so much :D

Looks like the 60s and 70s Jazz are still available, $588 and $613. Remember when the Standard Mexican Fenders sold at this price point? Wasn't too long ago. Now they are creeping up to $1000-1200.

Hopefully it's not too heavy, but at this price point I can afford to take that chance.

If I hadn't just bought an Aerodyne Jazz for $599, I'd be all over one of these. Either the 70s jazz or 50s P.

I actually have a Daphne Blue 60s Vintera J I got earlier this year and it's an awesome Bass. It made me rethink my stance on Pau Ferro because I got a rather dark example but with that being said, I don't know if I would buy another Pau Ferro board. The magic for me is the 7.25 radius and while it's my heaviest bass, It actually balances very well and I enjoy alder bodies.

The Aerodyne to me has the better neck being satin finish and rosewood. The 12 radius certainly helps with playability as well. With that being said the basswood body is definitely softer so they can be lighter and more unbalanced.

I love both of them and they are both great deals so anyone who is interested should take advantage of these prices.

I’m really glad I happened on this thread yesterday so I could grab a Dakota Red P-bass at that price. It was irresistible. I have a Squire CV P that I love, but I look forward to this one with a maple neck and even more vintage specs.

Well that was fast! Gotta love next day shipping.

Irresistible is also the word I’d use for this deal. For me, there’s not much better than a great deal on a vintage-spec bass that gets a lot of love on the pages of these fora.

What made it much better? Hearing my wife say, “You don’t have a red one…”
