Don't you all like Fieldy "playing bass" more then his solo stuff.
"if I woke up one day and my '69 P-bass made that sound I would light it on fire..."
Reading every single other post in this thread until I got to this line was worth it!
I'm going to have to think about that.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
That video was... well, it reminds me of darn near everything that is wrong with popular music today... all pose, no play.
Do kids actually look up to this guy???![]()
I've never seen such p*n*s-envy in my life whenever a Fieldy thread pops up.
It cracks me up to no end. His band dominated heavy music the last decade, and sold 10M times of records vs the amount of post counts many of you have, and you think he's the one with his feelings hurt?
He's laughing all the way to the bank and into the heavy music record books while you sit here wishing you were in that position instead.
"My band is awesome too! Just give us a chance, pleeeeease!"
:scowl::scowl:
Then we could sit here and talk about your $h!tty technique and tone. That'll be the day I look forward to, personally!
Come to think of it, you'd probably be so buried in the mix with mundane and useless bass lines nobody would even bother bringing you up!

Envy?
No, I think the world you're looking for is disdain.![]()

I don't think anyone here thinks that.
This isn't like sports, where on must perform to a high level to get the contract. Entertainment seems more about image than talent quite often. That's just the way that it is and I'm not losing sleep over it.
I'm sure many here have just that, but there are musicians among us here that can play, and these cats have opinions.
Is Fieldy a friend of yours or something?

ZING!!!! and +1!I've never seen such p*n*s-envy in my life whenever a Fieldy thread pops up.

Too long, but signature worthy!...I just think it's damn hilarious to hear this nonsense all the time while he keeps raking it in and selling albums, while most everyone else here sits on their duff whining about it. It just goes to show how many unprofessional "musicians" there are here. How many times have you seen a real bassist in a mag interview or TV spot ragging on another player, just for the hell of it, or to spot their "opinions"? (Jeff Berlin aside, mind you). It's stupid, and pointless. And the pinnacle of the afore-stated p*n*s-envy.

Really. So, can you please tell me what was on the cover of Korn's debut in regards to Fieldy that made him (or the band) more "image-appealing" to the masses, that made them such a huge success?
IIRC, it's a kid in a swingset, being overlooked by a shadow of someone holding a blade. Yeah. They were just so worried about their "image" to put them over on fans...
And those "musicians" probably couldn't hack it on a year-long tour with Korn.
I take it you've never seen nor heard them, live, correct?
I know I couldn't without working the hell up to it.
He's no friend by any means. I just think it's damn hilarious to hear this nonsense all the time while he keeps raking it in and selling albums, while most everyone else here sits on their duff whining about it.
