I've been watching this thread from afar for a while never really posting. Mainly because I've seen enough Feildy bahses in my time to be sick of them. But I figured that if a feildy thread can go for 5 pages its different right? Maybe someone should stickey this thread so nobody else wants to make another Feildy bash? Anywho...
I don't really like feildy or korn but I'm not gonna say he sucks. I mean, just because of what we see doesnt mean he's not good. Just like Mark Hoppus. Just because they play random notes or strings of 16th root notes doesn't mean they don't go home and play the Back prelude in G major in their spare time. I'm not defending them, I just hate people judging others by what they see and not what they know. After all, its a basic philisophical arguement: 'Just because we see something, do we actually KNOW it?'
As for Paul Grey, i gotta admit this guy is alright. Like Matt said, great tone. Check out Circle of Vol: 3. Great. And the into to Wait and bleed is great tone also. It's hard to be noticed in a band with memebers like Joey, James, Mick and Corey controlling the whole deal. Not to Mention 3 drummers clogging up the lower end. So credit where credit is due, this guy CAN play. Whether Bitchslap was a Bungle rippoff or not, he can slap very well.
As for shavo... I'm not gonna try and save him. Why? Certainly not because he's bad. But because I really dont like SOAD and therefor have never had a chance to examine his playing...
THAT i think is a very important point. I'm sure that alot of people who have posted on here to bash feildy, shavo or paul just don't like the bands or the music, they haven't sat down and looked any any of the players mentioned and most likely are jumping on the bandwagon. I'm not gonna name names but you know who you are... so a big f**k you goes out to those people because if theres one thing I hate, its bandwagon supporters. Basing your opinion purely on the optinions of others (a majority maybe) is stupid and idiotic. One word... sheep.
