Fist fight at band practice

Being in a band can be stressful and stuff like this happens. Friends fight all the time it doesn't seem serious.

Sure, we've had band spats. We had one in the green room at our favorite venue just before we went on. Then we played the best set we had ever played. It was like make-up sex.

Sounds like the gig my band played just this past weekend. Lots of tension during rehearsals, due to our drummer being somewhat of a diva and having bailed on the band six days before our last gig due to "vertigo" (a euphemism for "I don't think we're getting paid enough and the gig is too far away from where I live"), disagreements between me and the lead singer over the set list, and the fact that I had a cold and was singing through it and she had cut her finger the day before the gig and couldn't play guitar real well. All we did was play one of the best gigs we've ever done, get asked back to the club before the set was half over, play two encores in front of a well-oiled audience that was 70% female... and smile broadly at each other when it was done.
I would have been on my backside laughing too hard to pull her off.
He asked for it and got it, too funny.
It's great you all made up, though, little things can wreck a band too easily if you can't joke around and laugh at yourselves.
I've never smacked any band member, but we did have a sound guy drop the singer from a support band like the proverbial "sack of potatoes" on stage during a gig.
Singer had been throwing mic stands and mics around the stage during the set (thinking he was Daltrey or whatever - he wasn't). Rig and mics were owned by our sound guy. SG wandered up side stage at first, and asked the singer (during a solo) to take it easy on the gear. No effect - SG motions from the desk to the singer to cut it out. No effect.
SG walks on stage mid song and battle-axes the singer, then calmly returns to the desk. Crowd goes wild!

In bands which play originals, we always worked together on the lyrics (not always together on each song, but responsibility for lyrical content was never down to just one person).

I side with the drummer. Lazy ass singer should have at least come up with one verse. Or just stick with covers.
Or just mumble something so the band can practice the song.
Many times , espicially when originally writing the mmusic.....the Singer would sing Mary had a little lamb or something and come up with a melody.
Playing good music requires passion. It sounds perfect to me.

About a decade ago when we were all in our early 20s we had situations like that. I specifically remember fighting my guitar player and my singer. But we're like brothers. It was the same thing. one minute your fighting the next minute your laughing over beers. IMO its sometimes a good thing. If you can argue and get over it quickly it shows many things. First that the band is more than just people who know each other but actual friends. Two the people in the band actually care about the band. We haven had any physical fights in years but my bands together since 2001. That's a long time to learn what buttons to push to get things done.
