Whoa, just received a BF-2 that I picked up on the cheap from Reverb. Absolutely friggin amazing.
You know something? I really learned a lesson with this pedal. I had a Tunnelworm that I just hated on bass, so I wrote off Flanging in total. I just learned a real lesson...... dislike the pedal, not the effect.
Amazing that I grew up in the 80's when the only real option was Boss pedals, and it took me only 30 years to realize how amazing some of these older Boss pedals are.
If anyone is looking at an uber-expensive "small batch artisinal" flanger, do yourself a favor and pick up a $50 BF-2 instead. So much tone, zero volume drop and it just oozes character.

The monoprice I suggested is a clone of the Mooer which is a clone of the Electric Mistress which is supposedly a clone of an earlier pedal.
The Donner is not a clone of the EHX though is it? Is it a BF-2 clone?
The ENO T-Cube certainly appears to be a BF-2.
I don't know much about flangers. Can someone connect some of these dots for me?

The Donner IS an EHX clone. Well, not 100% a clone...it sounds ever so slightly off from the Electric Mistress. But it's totally based on the Electric Mistress in every way.
Alexander Pedals F.13 is the best flanger I've tried. Beat the Chase Bliss Spectre off of my board.
Based on this thread, I picked up a BF-2 yesterday off Craigslist for $35. It's like new. All I can say is wow! All the comments regarding it's richness, tone, etc. is true. I've only spent a few minutes with it so far, but can't wait to work with it more. It's definitely better than the MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe flanger mode.
Cool man. You did the right thing. No sense spending $200 for Booteek when you can buy the king of all bass flangers for $35.
If you want a basic jet flanging sound, the mxr micro flanger would be a good choice for that. if you want more of a swirling flanger sound, check out the mooer e-lady.

i have the mxr bass chorus deluxe. it's flanger mode is pretty good.

The flanger mode of the MXR BCD is decent, but I still think the BF-2 I just got is way better. I had a DOD BF a long time ago and it was pretty good in my opinion.
