My Emperor Elite 5 is chambered Walnut and is around 10 lbs. Not bad for me. Sure next to my Rob Allen

Well, that is part of the rub. My Deep 5 is 7.2 lbs and my MB-2 is 6.1 lbs. The YYS @ 8.3lbs is the heavyweight of the lineup

I'd love to hear more from Garrison or other 33" scale owners. Has anyone every done a 33" scale Monarch? I know the Monarchs can end up fairly light.

I have MG 33'', it is little bit heavier then regular ash basses, but still very comfortable, and the neck is one of the best necks I've tried.
I really don't worry to much about the weight of a bass if it's a great instrument... and also when bass is little heavier I fell that it's also the heavier sound, but that's just me

My Emperor II is out on DHL truck for delivery . . but I've got to go to day gig . . . arggg ! Hopefully they will leave it and i can come home and grab it before heading to Boulder for a Latin jazz gig late afternoon. I'm gonna be bummed if I miss it as I won't be able to play it this whole weekend at gigs.

Waited for my Fodera today, even came home for lunch and had a neighbor agree to get the bass. Went to an early gig expecting it when I got home. No package by end of shipment time and I get a note that there was an exception just as DHL closed.

Argg . . .there was some confusion on taxes. They called yesterday and said I owed $775!! I explained that the item was made here, and they looked more carefully at the packing note and verified that I was correct. The package then came here and went out on the truck . . however the driver saw something that said taxes were still due and took it back. I just called them and explained it again . . . now they are going to bring it on Monday.

I'm pretty annoyed at DHL right now . . . going to have to go meditate the rest of the night now to calm down instead of getting to know my new bass . .. .

Will not be using them when I don't have to in future, needless to say.

Robin... that sucks man. I've heard some bad things with DHL and have had terrible experiences with UPS myself as well. Hope the meditation works and you do the gig ok!!

Fedex overnight early delivery is the service I'll use. Could care less about saving money shipping my bass.
