Fodera Club Part XI

Still in process. Should be some more work on it this week. For better or worse, with these new prototypes and special instruments, they move forward in fits and starts as Vinny goes through the creative process of tackling one hurdles after another. Creating a completely new instrument is rather hard to predict the timing of. Thankfully the person for whom this is being built has been incredibly patient. You will NOT be able to miss it in the Newborn Section when it's done...I promise you that!

A while ago you said( well, obviously.. wrote in a post...) that there was an instrument in the works on which a couple of new for fodera things were going to be tried and possibly applied to a new AJ bass.
Any news on that instrument?
Is it possibly in the NB section already and I've just missed it?
:)

Yeah...the 70+ hour work weeks have a way of getting in the way of writing. Truth be told, since we became partners I have not written a word...sad, but then again I've had (IMHO) more important things to do for now...

Cheers,

J

Jason,

speaking of your work at Fodera and, in other posts, the schedule - it seems that the one thing that is definitely behind schedule is your book ;)

That sounds good.
I look forward to seeing it when done!
Thanks for the info!

I received my 6 string Matt Garrison finally last weekend, right timing for this...........The unboxing moment is amazing and simply WOW after first see the new baby!:eek: ) I actually video taped it... :hiding:

The bass sounds incredible, everything is attention to details, just some minor setups needed after a long flight. Vinny and the team completely nailed down what my requests, a compact 6 string with 33" scale length, 16.5 mm spacing, 5 string body.... They did it!! To those people who feel interested and curious how the 33" scale B string sounds, I can only tell it is AWESOME!!!

I don't know how to express my feeling and happiness on this bass... so here you go some pics.......

 Beautiful.

If you get some clips up I'd be interested in hearing that spec.

Timothy!!! Many congratulations to you, and what a beautiful bass. I know you were going through the agony of waiting during the latter part of my long wait for my MG6 - I am so pleased for you that you now finally have yours, and what a fabulous-looking instrument. I know exactly how that long wait feels, but when it's finally over - there's nothing that compares to hearing the first notes ring out... Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!! Mik

One of my favorites that I have seen! Congrats.

I have played my new Emp II some more, and had a friend come over as well. This week I'm hanging with another friend who has a lot of experience with Foderas, so I'l post more then. That said, I guess I hadn't really thought about it till now, but the bass is pretty much perfect. Detail, playability and setup, and the sound is fantastic. The dual coils can get a great slap sound that is pretty close to a single coil sound. I have a particular electronics package that I like, but this bass is pretty close to is and really is just a beast to play and hear.
