Had to beg and pay up, and stoked that I did The ebony next to the walnut didn't seem like it would do it for me.

That's a great chestnut top. I believe that that EMP II also has a croth walnut back (see attached pic). The back of this one is what made me crave a crotch walnut top for my Fodera.

you're right - that is the Bass that they called "The Beast" (with the crotch walnut back...) ... I should have seen this ...

the side where I've found those two says that the top wood on the AJ style bass is a Brazilian RW top

Yes!!! I used to have "the beast" as my wallpaper while I was waiting for my six string. Here are a couple more pics of it from the old Fodera website.

That's an amazing rosewood top on the AJS,... I love seeing the knots in pieces like that.

Well I did it! Shipped off two basses today and put a deposit down with Glenn at Austin bass traders! An Emperor 5 is in my near future!

What are the woods in your bass? I think that's a walnut top- what kind?

I don't know when "the beast" was built,... but if you did a similar build with the current pricing, it would probably be close to $15k. There are A LOT of upgrade options in that bass.

I was just noticing that beast yesterday on Glenn's site. Looks like a relatively inexpensive way to get into a Fodera!

I also have found Glenn knowledgeable and have already designed a new Custom Fodera Imperial 5 elite with his help that I hope to order later this year. He had a few thoughts I would not have considered.

I have to sell my URB first though (below). . . someone buy it please so I can have it all!
