Formula 1/F1/Formula One

I'm hearing this will be in place by Imola...

Romain Grosjean racing for the win at Long Beach today, denied but just barely. Without his qualifying crash and subsequent grid penalty from 2nd to 6th...???

OTOH, Jimmie Johnson: practice crash, broken hand, practice crash, race crash. He's got the consistency thing worked out at least. :beaver:

Didn't get to see the Austrialian GP due to time difference but I was able to catch the last half-third of the Long Beach GP. Wow, what a great race. Grosjean really gave Newgarden a run for his money despite running out of PTP and Palou still having some in reserve with 5-ish laps left. Tip of the hat to Newgarden, he raced his ass off with two cars hot on his tail.

Yeah, cool to see see the varied tire choices in the last stint create that ebb and flow to keep things exciting. Just getting past Palou at that stage of the race was a pretty big ask for Grosjean, and all three drivers really did a lot of things right.

Crazy Quali today, longer than some races.

Magnussen spins off, boots it through the gravel trap, barely touches the wall, gets going again on his own and ultimately scores P4, the best Haas qualifying result ever. And Mercedes failed to make Q3 with either car, first time since 2012.
