once i picked up a modulus m-92 5 back in the early-mid 90's, i abandoned playing fours. having the 'b' string became part of me.
tried 6-stringers but personally don't need the upper-upper range. it'd be nice to stay in the first position with a sixer and never venture past the fifth fret but not my cup o' tea. plus the extra upper string gives me fits... :***:
the black & maple one (nicknamed "draven") started off with an emg mm5 in the sweet spot. tone wasn't moving me so i dropped in a bartolini married to a bart pre. spoke to me a bit more but wanted a bit more bark so installed a skinny bartolini dual coil in the bridge position. gave it more presence and 'zing'.
