I feel like the L-1500 is a bit underrepresented here, so here's my bands new music video with me banging away shamelessly at my main bass.
This particular song has a somewhat different bass tone from what I usually use, to fit the 'semi-slap' technique I use in the main riff and verse. You would be surprised at how versatile a one-pickup bass can be, I use the L-1500 for any genre and usually choose it over my L-2500.

The G&L control cavity looks like a bowl of spaghetti, easy to mess things up in there. Is there a guitar tech you can take it to up there in Greenland?

dang. I had let my local to change the tone and bass pot where they took 3 mounths(so i have no respect or trust to them) and after that, it sounds great, til´ one day i found one lose/unwired wire ehen i was about to change battery, and it there where i screwed up.
and if im have to sent it to repair, it will cost me the same price as buying a new one or close to the same price as american l2500
Ugh. Well, if the preamp is ruined, and you have no way to install a new one....maybe just remove the preamp and have the MFD's in passive mode only? Many people prefer G&L passive mode anyway.
I know that others here have done it, maybe they will help you with the wiring procedure.
Is there a possibility for you locally to have someone with knowledge of electronics to take a look at it? Talkbass comunity will help you with the required circuit diagrams.
anyways, i think i will go by a dealer in Denmark next summer. and im planing to contact them soon to ask if they can help me out
My rationale was that you could go to a TV repair shop or some such. You must have them there. Or, anyone who has a soldering iron and the skills. Heck, they maintain cars and snowmobiles over there, don't they? The bass electronics are very simple, you don't need a musical instrument specialist to make sense of the innards.

I wouldn't say I can get a perfect P-bass sound from it, but it's close enough and the tonal options are almost endless. The quality of the instrument is fantastic. For $400, I feel like I paid too little.

Seriously, though, glad you like it! Even more tonal options if you wire in some coil taps for single coil mode.

Wasn't sure what 5-Stinger I wanted. Fender, MM, G&L. I found a used G&L (always wanted a G&L) Tribute Blueburst online thru GC I decided I would go with since I wanted to keep it cheap. I wasn't too excited about ordering online, shipping and then having to have a set up. I checked CL one last time and a black/maple one popped up 60 miles away. The thing is flawless save for 2-1" scratches on the back, all set up and ready to roll. I offered $400 cash, and went and grabbed it.
I only had 1 other 5 String (JB Player) about 15 years ago, that I only plugged in twice. This is my first 5 string that I will actually use in a band.
3rd practice w/it is tonight, and I am quite impressed with how it sounds and plays. Best $400 I ever spent.
Honestly I just got the USA a couple days ago. It was in terrible need of a setup (bought it used), so I'm still adjusting it. Once I get it setup I'll let you know!
