Yes, I have read that. But, what are the sonic differences of the Hamiltone design versus the standard ASAT pickups and how does that effect playability? This question was mostly for the G&L fans that have had a chance to actually pick one up and/or play one.

Sorry I haven't taken the time to read through the whole thread, but has anyone removed the pick up elector switch and installed a blend knob yet? The switch instead of a way to blend the pick ups is so far the only thing I'm not digging on this bass.

I'm joining the club! So far this is a VERY cool bass. Very light and a nice, thin neck.

Expect awesomeness! To my hand (I have a couple L2500 Tributes) the neck is narrower and chunkier than most, but very (very) playable. Details are [Invalid or Expired Link Removed].

The pickup is made by G&L and there's a YouTube video on G&L pickups that you can view. Link

so i tried to search this, but couldn't figure it out, are some g&l necks compound radius and some not? my 83 L2k with the 1.75 inch nut and the flat profile is, but i'm not so sure about my 2011 sb-2 with the 1.5 inch nut and the chunky profile

the 83 is absurdly easy to play btw

I agree with you on the early 80's wide flat necks. I have two 1981's like that and they are a dream to play.

Neck question along those lines for those in the know. The 1.625", #12 neck is pretty good IMO. And I recently learned via my new Trib SB-2 that I really dig the 1.5", #8 neck. Yet I'm open to other profiles.

Is the 1.75", #5 Vintage neck similar to the early '80s G&Ls?

I had an '82 L1000 with that neck and hated it (the neck I mean, the bass rocked). It was the opposite of what I usually like in a 4 string neck - a narrow, thick neck, probably because I had learned to play on a '76 Gibson Thunderbird that was narrow and fat and somewhat J like. The L1000 was still such a good bass that I kept if for 15 years.

Never heard of a G&L bass with a compound radius neck. Was your neck modded?
