Yeah I don't think I am being fussy. None of my other basses (Rick, Sterling Ray, MIM P bass) have any issues like this. So I am a bit p'd off. Because I spoke to the guy on the phone who was supposed to be setting it up. I bet he noticed it but sure as S didn't mention it. Any player would notice it. I can probably get over it with further discount but I love the tones so much I am almost trying to justify a CLF ha ha.Sensitivity can be a good thing, helps articulation. I didn't comment on the 'crater' because it is hard to judge how it feels. To me the neck is the most important part of the instrument - that is what I look at first when checking out a bass.
An over all good bass may ease my fussiness when it comes to selecting for a purchase, but your standards/preferences may differ.
