Have this a couple of months and overall really dig it. But I'm surprised that I had to get the input jack replaced with a Switchcraft as the cord kept popping out of the original one. I also have to find a better blend knob as the original is basically a switch, minor stuff but a head scratcher to me to cut
corners on simple components with a U.S. built bass. Love the bass though.

Very true. I had to change the same plastic output socket on my 2013 US M-2500 and put a Switchcraft one like the one pictured below.
Very strange as this cheap plastic thing requires more wood carving (=> cost) on the side of the control cavity.

They're already cutting the wood, cutting a little more isn't going to cost them extra, but buying 1,000 of those sockets at even $1 cheaper, saves them $1,000.

They used to use jacks like the one pictures. I think they had reliability issues with the old jacks. Fairly common for them to wear out and require replacement.

Hmm, I think my ASAT sounds a lot like Lemmy's Rickenbacker when I turn on the treble boost.

Lemmy would disagree that Motorhead is heavy metal. He says, "We are Motorhead & we play Rock & Roll!".

Lemmy just gets a little ticked when people ask him if Motorhead are punk or metal. They were even bluesy at one time. Listen to the first renditions of Born To Lose (Iron Horse).

I like the older headstock profile on your L2500. The new headstocks look kinda like Elephant Seal faces to me.

I am the happy owner of a G&L Legacy. Body dated Nov. 6, 1992 and neck dated Nov. 19, 1992. It plays wonderfully, and sounds GREAT!

It's my first G&L, but it won't be my last..

I can see putting a box in someday, $23 @Stewmac, what bugged me about the battery compartment was that on mine when I removed one the shielding came off the wire ends, no biggie, just weird to cheap out on such simple stuff. Hopefully they will be able to be a little more diligent with the price increase. To me kind of expected on the Tributes but not on US built. I would think the boxes would cost about $5 in bulk and there wouldn't be wires exposed.

It's a 1997 L-2500 Custom (see my avatar) and it's the last year G&L did the 4+1 headstock. It has a 1-15/16th nut width, that seems very uncommon.

Saints forgive me...I just played my 2014 LB-100 and I must say: playability is a 10, tone is a 4. Way too trebly, even with tone rolled off completely. I think it must be the .022 uF capacitor, because the pups seem to have the capacity for plenty of bottom and cool overtones, they're just putting out too much high-mid for me. I gotta fix this. My MIJ Fenders are way, way ballsier. Anyone else have a similar opinion? Or not?

Mines a '93, so different pickup, but I felt the same thing. Moved to an .033uF, got better, but still want to move up to .047uF. Just didn't have one in the parts bin when I pulled her apart.
