It's a strap I had made for me special for that bass, Orangish Snake scale design on leather, solid orange leather backing underneath. Padded about 3 1/2inch, but they use centimeters. Made by a guy who makes custom straps in Mexico, called Fafnir Custom Strapps. I would recommend them, it wasn't cheap however I really like it, very well made and perfect. They have many different styles and colors, different widths, almost anything possible. If you want one the same as this one I'm sure they'd make it. Show them the picture of it if you'd like. Here's their facebook link, the strapps are artistic IMO

Beautiful Straps. Too bad you have to be on Facebook (which I sword off of) to be able to see them. I thought it let me see their different straps last night but today I say's "You are not logged in".

Ya you'll probably have to go to FB to see all the pictures they have there. I saw them on FB and chatted with them is how I got the straps. They've done lots of really killer, artistic straps. Wish they were in the states !!

All his straps are killer, IMO. They're all custom, so just about anything is possible

Its like a 5 string SB-1. String spacing is 15 mm. It's a little too close. I've played a friends L5k and it was cool but I don't think I could get into it long term. And Im a fan of 17 mm spacing.

It has dual split coil 5-string pickups. Their casings resemble the z-coil guitar pickups on the Comanche. Are these pickups MFDs? It's hard for me to be sure from looking at the photos on my phone.

Yes they are MFDs. That one was for sale on TB a few years back and it's the only one I've ever seen with dual splits. The production version had one split Z coil.

There are only two known double pickup L5K's out there. The bridge pup on that one was added and it sounded too thin at the bridge. I owned it for a short time as did Dan (@darkcaptain); previously had a standard L5K. Real tight string spacing and IMO the MFD paled to it's 4-string cousins, by far. It sounded nothing like an SB1.

Anyone know definitively what type of finish was used on early G&Ls in the 80s? I see lots of them that wear and check like nitro but I'm just not certain if they are. Could they be poly that has sort of softened?

Kind of thuddy B but strings type / gauge could address.. rare as hen's teeth but you linked an L1000 lol, did you mean this?
